The Café Pierre Jean Jase is a member of The "Café du village" network, organized by the Eastern Townships board and dedicated to providing welcoming, friendly, top-quality experiences. The Café Pierre Jean Jase certainly qualifies. We visited on a weekday noon in September. We were warmly welcomed. We had the daily special (soup followed by a quiche and salad). Absolutely excellent.

Went there for lunch today with my wife and son Joshua. This restaurant actually have an operational beer brewery inside. One of the oldest on the area, I was told. It is busy on Friday afternoon. We ordered pizza with potato, mushroom and duck fat, spring green salad with duck meat and fat, and also the beef ribs. The salad was delicious, I never have duck meat and fat with the greens. The pizza is ok, it would be much better if it have duck meat on it. The ribs were tender but needs more taste, and hot sauce will give the dish a kick. I have a glass of summer beer, it is sour since it have berries into the beer.

We came here for lunch and for dinner while staying in Sherbrooke for 3 days. We were seated immediately both times even on a Friday night. For lunch we had their chicken noodle soup and salmon/shrimp entree. We shared the sugar tart and it was superb. Both were yummy. For dinner we enjoyed the snow crab dinner and the shrimp dinner. Both were generous in size. reasonable in price and very good. Service was excellent. This is a very well managed restaurant with hard working friendly staff.

Chef Danny St-Pierre built this restaurant’s reputation, left in 2015, was replaced by Olivier St-Arnaud, who left 2 years later for Mont-Tremblant. Although I had never tried this restaurant before, I was curious to see how the restaurant fares under leadership of new chef Julien Hamont (Marc-André Roy was the chef at lunch though). Before we start, and to be fair to the restaurant, my visit took place at lunch, during the Sherbrooke @ table promo week.Prompt and dynamic hostess, the welcome was very pleasant and set the table for the rest: I arrived around 13:00, so just after peak lunch rush which, because of the promo, was exceptionally busy. Still, all personnel encountered were smiling and courteous, they don’t let you see them sweat, probably one the most professional service staff in Sherbrooke. The appetizer was a salade de courges: not bad, good flavours in there, the dish’s flavours were diminished by the cold of the fridge it was stored in. They prepare in advance to speed up service (I don’t mind) to the detriment of the food as the flavours would have come through better had it been at room temperature for a while. Still, taste was there.Followed up by the tuna tataki, quinoa & kale, an all-star dish for both flavour and nutrition (hard to beat this combo nutrition wise). Again, tuna was a little harder than I expected because it goes from very cold to very hot in the kitchen process, this tends to harden the fish. Both the quinoa and the kale were well seasoned and I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Texture wise, it would have been more interesting IMHO to toast the kale and oppose the crispiness to the quinoa & tuna’s mushiness. But again, taste all over this dish.Finished with a very pleasant chou a la creme, beautiful rendition, nothing stupid, plainly good. For $40 (no wine included), this was exceptional value on a very busy day and consequently merits a five star rating for service, ambiance & taste. Will visit again.

Came for a later dinner with the family and thoroughly enjoyed the fleet of beers tasted. The food is fairly basic pub food but they do a very good job of the basics, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered - and we ordered pretty much everything on the menu. Highly recommend the chicken wings - they’re made with one of their beers and the sauce is finger licking worthy.

Went with my wife and son on our trip to the Quebec Eastern Townships and Quebec City. This restaurant is in the older part of town close to downtown. The restaurant was deco with lots of beautiful paintings that all have prices next to them. We order two tasting menu and one duck breast. From the tasting menu, we have crab meat, ribs, veal, pork belly, pork cheek, duck egg, goat cheese and dessert. We love the duck breast too. Their platings were beautiful. We also have tasting of 3 different wine from France, Italy and Spain. The desserts were tasty.
