Not a good place to stay with friends
Reviewed By Nico PSpent 4 nights here for the new year of 2012, wasn't really nice experience. So many curfews: entrance closed at 10pm, ofuro closed at 10pm, morning shower closed at 9am, and must not stay in the room after 9.30am. The staff claimed that they will clean the room after 9.30am, but when we got back at night, nothing changed. Since the walls of the room were thin, just a little bit of laughter can be heard outside and the neighbors will most likely complain. Not a good place to spend the new year or any celebrations. The place was also not so friendly for those who don't have a car. Without a car you will need to climb quite a long way to the hostel. The free wifi was weak in the room. Pretty much useless.

Basic and cheap
Reviewed By Marco MI stayed on a very rainy night during the Golden Week holidays. The hostel is a rather old building along the National Route N. 42, just before the town of Kumano. Its offer accommodation only, no food and no use of kitchen. No wireless internet. Clean sheets are provided (and umbrella, on a rainy day:)). The caretaker is very kind, but seems to speak Japanese only. I got a room at the ground floor with 4 bunk beds and half of the floor made of tatami straw mats. A warm bath in the common bathroom is possible from the late afternoon. On that night in the hostel there were only myself and a couple of Japanese hikers walking the old Kumano pilgrimage road on the room next door. I had a room all for me, so put the futon directly on the tatami and enjoyed a good sleep, Japanese style. A short walk from the hostel there is a cheap Japanese fast food: Sukya, 24H open. In the centre of the town there are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants specialising in grilled beef. The coast north of Kumano toward Owase, along route N. 311, is very scenic, also the southern tip of the Kii Peninsula is very beautiful. Shinto shrines, temples, forests, clear rivers and the blue ocean. It is really an attractive area, but very humid. Right in front of the hostel there is a long beach of cobbles. However a sign in the hostel advises against swimming. The caretaker told me that the sea gets deep very quickly and the waves are dangerous.

Reviewed By muse C先日初めて伺いました！ 爽やかイケメンオーナーさんが暖かく迎えてくれます！ 外観はプレハブのような感じですが、内装は新築とのことでとても綺麗でした！ 白を基調にした室内は清潔感もあり、テーブル等も広く、食器や調理器具なども自由に使っていいとのことでした。 カプセル内部も広々としていて、座っても頭をぶつけることのないくらいの高さがあり、快適でした。 ゲストハウスにしてはアメニティも充実しており、女性には嬉しいのではないかと思います！ また伊勢に行くことがあれば利用したいと思います！
