Beautiful hotel and lovely staff
Reviewed By 957carmenmarianWe had initially booked at the sister hotel in a street facing room but had a free upgrade to an ocean facing room at the Lantern Boutique. We stayed for 5 nights and had the best time. The room had a great view, it was clean and spacious. There were also two adorable and friendly dogs that liked to hang out by the beach area of the hotel. The ocean wasn’t swimmable this time of year, but we were happy with the pool and there were other beaches a few minutes away that were safe for swimming. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, they arranged everything for us to go to Yala national park and even packed breakfast for us to take with since we had to leave really early. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were also really nice, we loved the Lantern breeze cocktails, hot butter calamari, and Sri Lankan breakfast. There are also lots of other nice restaurants and bars in walking distance. We had a very memorable experience and will definitely return next time we are in Sri Lanka!

You can’t beat the location of this hotel, it’s just across the street from a safe surf spot and the lovely ocean. The restaurant wasn’t open, but Samith recommended all the best places to enjoy a meal on every budget level. The rooms on the lower level are clean and spacious with good water pressure from the shower. The beds come with a helpful mosquito net, but as long as the doors and windows stay closed, this is hardly needed. The upper level room, has a nice sitting area that overlooks the ocean. Traveling alone in your home country should be a safe and joyful experience and with friendly people like Samith, this is easy to accomplish. Highly recommended.

Local owner knows his way around will help you with anything you need, from laundry to getting you to the best events around town! The food is delicious! Great breakfast and a killer ‘Sri Lankan rice and curry’ BIG ups!

Reviewed By Chehova0704I lived in this hotel for 2 weeks and didn’t want to leave this place! I want to recommend you, don’t even waste your time to find better place to eat. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners here are awesome and not expensive at all! Staff is great! We love Golden Bay and will come here back again!

Awesome place, Awesome Host
Reviewed By Ryan CI stayed at Vogel’s Nest during surfing season in February. I stayed in the room with the Air Conditioner and it was awesome. The room is clean and comfortable and the breakfast is great! The location is great too, a short walk from tasty restaurants and the relaxing beach. If I come back to Midigama I will 100% stay at Vogel’s Nest.

No Air Conditioning, but a ceiling fan does the trick Clean and spacy bathroom. Just few meters from the beach which is a great plus. Lovely seating area on the porch. Highly recommend.

Very new and clean
Reviewed By wallflower69Pls support this new guesthouse! Affordable price and pretty good location, a short walk to the supermarket and the lovely mirissa beach. Do note there is no signboard as it's a homestay, so just look out for the colour of the main gate through the pictures on agoda. Very hospitable guesthouse ladyboss who kindly kept our clothes for us when it rained. Very new home with great wifi and clean bedroom, but bathroom is not attached. No hot water shower but that's ok in mirissa climate. They speak broken English but we still could understand each other :)
