Market Drayton is a market town in north Shropshire, England, close to the Welsh and Staffordshire border. It is on the River Tern, between Shrewsbury and Stoke-on-Trent, and was formerly known as "Drayton in Hales" (c. 1868) and earlier simply as "Drayton" (c. 1695). Market Drayton is on the Shropshire Union Canal and on Regional Cycle Route 75. The A53 road by-passes the town. The counties of Staffordshire and Cheshire are both close by.

Service good, just found that when we were wanting the bill the gentleman serving was nowhere to be seen. Starters found a bit strange as there were no onion bargi as is the norm and so ordered the mix veg and mushroom bargi instead. To find what arrived was more like a small curry type stew wirth salad. Very nice, just not what we were expecting and because there was so much of it found it hard to eat our mains. Ended up having to take away. Mains had a good range and was a nice meal.

Didn't know this place existed, it's tucked away in a small village away from main roads, it's well signposted though. It's actually the dining room behind a very well used pub which serves superb beer, a good start to the night!
Orders were taken while we enjoyed our drinks in the front room of the pub, and you're taken through when your meal is ready.
I'm not very familiar with Thai food, and this was a superb introduction. For starter we had a selection of prawns and chicken in filo pastry - the chicken was juicy and tender and as for the prawns .... well! ... I've never seen such big ones, and they were full of flavour, set off very well by a sweet chilli dip which accompanied them.
Main courses arrived, I had a Thai green curry which was nicely spicy and very fragrant. Absolutely loads of rice was brought to our table and we ended up very full indeed!
Service fantastic, very attentive, delightful young lady who served us. We'll be back - very soon!

If you're looking for that somewhere special to eat, look no further. This is our go to place for special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, Valentines, it's never let us down. No, it's not cheap, but both the food and wine are worth every penny. The staff are very professional and make Goldstone Hall feel like you're in the very best of restaurants. We've even held a private function for 14 with a special menu. A night to remember. Look no further if you're planning a special occasion.

Early meal prior to the festival Drayton Theatre. We had the place to ourselves for much of the time so received excellent service. Waiter was also very helpful with his advice.The meal was tasty and enjoyable, standard Chinese with nothing special from a very wide range of choice on the menu.

We regularly have Sunday evening meal at the pub as it is well priced, friendly staff and efficient. We went on Sunday 25 February 2018 as a party of 4 after telling our guests how good things were. Regrettably something was evidently wrong. The service was extremely slow, the meal was not as hot as it should have been and the promised trimmings for our dog never arrived even though we had been asked at what table we were sitting. No waiter/waitress came to our table during the meal to check all was well so we were not able to communicate our disappointment at the time. We are now uncertain if we should return in the future? Was it a one-off or are things slipping?

Nana B wanted to take out some of her (adult) grandchildren and their partners out for a meal for her 80th birthday, so 6 of us gathered at the Peel Arms for lunch a couple of Saturdays ago. As on our previous visit, the menu includes fairly standard pub food done well.
I had mushroom stroganoff which I was pleased to see came with rice or chips or half and half - I loved the half and half! Portions were generous and prices reasonable, and everyone enjoyed their mains and desserts.

We booked here for the first time. The ambiance of the pub is really welcoming and friendly. The food is good but I wouldn’t say cordon bleu. Service was slow especially having children with us. Starter was lovely, I had smoked salmon, main was disappointing- bovril gravy?? Chatenay carrots with star anise and cloves?? Strange flavour. Keep it simple for a roast dinner. The meat was lovely but the food was on the verge of being cold. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious but the chocolate brownie was hard and dry.
All in all, I would go back but not on a ‘special’ day, just a normal weekend.

1st time dining, our expectations were high.
Had sunday lunch x 3 courses all really tasty and flavoursome.
Could do with more veg,but only an observation.
Service let down the overall experience,waiting time a bit to long for basics.Short of menu's.... hows that happen then ???surely a very basic item.....
Overall pleased with food,will go again.

We had a really lovely Sunday lunch with friends and their children. The food was really good quality and tasted fantastic. There was a lot of choice on the menu so you won't be disappointed. They were able to do any of the menu choices in kids sizes too. All the staff were great, they were friendly and welcoming. Our only criticism, because we have children, is the lack of changing facilities for the kids. We had to change the kids nappies in the pub, but fortunately not in front of any other guests! We'd love to return though, and we'd recommend this place to others.
