We had been recommended this restaurant so our expectations were rather high, but even so it surprised us with its excellences.Everything was great - the service, the ambiance, the interior design etc.The food was cooked to perfection and the dishes really elevated all its ingredients. The wine list was also great and the staff were able to give some insightful help in choosing wine.I’m very restricted when it comes to give spaces a 5 star review, but in this case there are no other options then 5 stars.

As you walk in, thinking this is just another roadside type little restaurant, the view instantly transports you. The building is cleverly poised overlooking a pretty, clean beach, and the vibe is peaceful and cool at the same time. I've been there twice, once for lunch last year, this year for a snack; the service is excellent, they greet you cheerfully and several waitresses speak decent English. The menu is appropriate, and they have options for everyone. I like the fact that they will serve you a meal at 4:00 PM or snacks at 5:00; they cater to a vacation crowd who is not watching the clock.

The first time we were searching this place, we did not notice that this normal house door, hardly lit, was actually the entrance. No reservations are taken, but if you are there and all the tables are occupied, it is worth it to wait until a table becomes free. To recommend: "bife de lomo" and the seafood tartlet. We returned several times.

La Petite Cuisine

LPC is a ‘petit’ restaurant in the ‘Ciudad Vieja’ of Montevideo, in the touristic Peatonal Sarandí. We make contemporary cuisine with the application of classic French cuisine adapted to the Uruguayan market. Come to visit us!

Please note the restaurant moved a month ago to a new address nearby, Sarandi 331.You will really need to watch carefully, the entrance is too discreet. The new premises are much larger. Everything about this lunch was terrific. The venue is very well presented. Clean and tasteful. The kitchen looks great. The toilets were spotless. The staff were welcoming and forgiving of our clumsy Spanish (and French!). I ordered the spinach ravioli, my wife the pork with pumpkin puree and vegetables. We were given an aperitif, some beautiful bread with citrus butter and an eggplant chia puree. Then a shot glass of soup. Very nice to have these little extras. The food was very good. The ravioli was just right. The desert was great. The coffee was good. The staff were really helpful. The wine, by the glass was so nice, we had the bottle. It shows when people are making an effort in a restaurant. They all were, the cooks, the wait staff, management.Highly recommended. Fine cuisine in Montevideo.

We had dinner there last night 11/05 and we ordered as first courses the Thai salad and the duck ham - bough very well done dishes - great presentation too, as next course we had the steak (Lomo ) and I ordered one of their signature dishes the chicken curry and while the lomo was also excellent with a side of rucula salad and goat cheese, my curry was disappointing - I did ask for a level 2 spicy ( out of 3 ) and my dish was less than 0 in flavor - also I would think made the day before and warmed up (but of course cannot be sure ) anyway that was the only downside - as desert we had a choclate mouse with a topping of orange cream and all good - service a bit slow but the place was packed so no problem there - the owner was present the the restaurant was humming =

We visited there as a part of a Executive MBA Study group and we had the entire place to our self which allowed us to roam around and explore the place at ease. The museum had myriad collections of tools, kitchen utensils, musical instruments careful chosen and displayed all around the restaurant. From outside the museum/restaurant is discreet and you might miss the small sign on the front wall if you are not looking for it.We had a pre-fixed menu consisting of one of the most unique egg preparation and salad to start with followed by the best steak which I had in Uruguay and ending with amazing flan. I would definitely go back again once back in this country.

We decided to go with a large group of friends (all of them Punta del Este residents), to try out this newly opened restaurant. We booked one day in advance a large table at 20:00, and most of us were there on time........much to our surprise, they started preparing the fire for the barbecue.......at 20:10..... No need to tell you that we ended up having the first piece of cooked meat at 21:15 !!! No planning, no preparation. To add insult to injury, we ordered three mixed appetizers to share while we waited for the main course. 40 minutes after we placed the order they realized that they had never told the cook about it. We ended up canceling it !! Folks, I think we can understand that mistakes are made, and particularly on a recently opened restaurant. What is inadmissible is that aside from a reluctant apology for the mix-up and the monstrous delay, there was no effort from the owner to redress the matter. She could have offered a free bottle of wine, or a couple of free meals on our next visit, or just a small token of appreciation to have us eventually return to the restaurant. Nothing, zilch. They don't´t have the foggiest idea of what is customer service. The result is that they now have 16 of us which will never return, and, even worse, we will be sure to spread the word. It's a pity because the place is nice, and the food is not too bad.Thank you for your review however you have reviewed us twice - once in Spanish and once in English - as this is not allowed on TripAdviser, I have asked TripAdvisor to take one of these down as it brings down our review ratings. Furthermore, I did try to approach your table (I being the owner of Nuestra Mesa) - I went with the waiter to try to resolve the fact that he did not enter your appetizer into the system. I was waved off without being given a chance to speak and told very clearly to forget it and bring your main course. This is what I instructed my staff to do. Sometimes there is no way to heal a problem if the client is not willing to allow you to do so. The waiter was on trial and did not make it to the Nuestra Mesa team and I am sorry to say that as much as I appreciate your comments you are clearly overstating what happened in a very unfair way. I hope our clients read this review and understand that every customer is important to Nuestra Mesa and this exeprience is definitely one that never happens at Nuestra Mesa.
