Lower Saxony Hostels hotel | Places to Stay in Lower Saxony

April 25, 2023 Fernanda Pittenger

Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen in German) in Germany's northwest is the country's second-largest state in terms of size and its fourth population-wise. Home to Hannover and several other larger cities, the area is treasured for its natural beauty, as well, with diverse terrain that includes coastline, flatlands, rolling hills and woodlands. Both the wildlife-filled Harz Mountains in the south and the East Frisian Islands off the northern coast are beloved by Germans and visitors alike.

A great place to stay before sailing to Helgoland

Reviewed By MichaelSTallinn

I stayed in this hotel (even though it calls itself a hostel) at the end of Janurary 2022, when on my trip to Helgoland island. Due to the early departure of the ferry the next morning I needed to stay at an affordable price within the harbor. For this purpose it was extremely ideal! When I checked in I found a very helpful and friendly receptionist, who also handed to me a discount card for a close-by restaurant, which indeed was a very good recommendation. The room was neat and clean and of a good seize. There was everything one would need for a short stay: Guest supplies, towels, linen, hair dryer etc. The bed was a bit tricky as the pillow slipped into a gap at the end of the bed and caused me waking up sometimes. But it was nothing that would keep my away next time. The next morning's breakfast came in at a separate charge of 9.50 €, but again it was a comprehensive buffet of good quality. I had a good start into my day! I will certainly stay there again when traveling to Helgoland. Recommended!

A sandy beach stretches for kilometres along the coast from Cuxhaven. The modern hostel is situated in the Duhnen district of Cuxhaven. The 5 km long beach is just a few steps away. Kite surfers can practise daring jumps in the North Sea waves. And, of course, mudflat walks and river cruises are an absolute highlight in Cuxhaven. The modern hostel has lots of space and bright rooms where you can feel good. 251 beds, mostly in 4-bed rooms, centrally located showers/toilets, rooms for group leaders, family rooms, club room for group leaders, 2 large dining rooms, common rooms, a TV room with DVD player, W-LAN, family lounge with a play area laundry room with coin-operated washing machine and dryer, disco room for groups, inner courtyard with a slide and outdoor chess set, table tennis, table football etc.

Top notch

First night we stayed at a local hotel. Big growed was very noisy. So second night we got advised to come here. It's very clean, quiet and the food is great. Short walk you the beach. Building is simple and dose not have the feel of a hotel. But nor is the price. If I return to area, I'll book my rooms here.

Schlechtester Aufenthalt

Reviewed By Jobe1235
