Really nice and warm in February
Reviewed By Alan TWe stayed at the Ahornhof, on a coach trip with Crusader Holidays and had a wonderful week, or driver was exellant, there are so many thing to do and see in Bavaria. All the rooms were always warm and welcoming, beds comfortable. The food was Bavarian, and enjoyable! So was the beer! It's a long journey but well worth it; we felt safe all the way, even in the snow. Oh, one down side the fire alarm went of once, people smoking in their rooms, the English went down to reception, but no one else took any notice! If you're not on a coach, you'll need a car

Set at the foot of the Grosser Falkenstein mountain, our traditional 3-star hotel in the peaceful village of Lindberg invites you to explore the beautiful Bavarian Forest National Park. Our Hotel provides country-style, non-smoking rooms amid picturesque hiking trails, bicycle routes, and ski runs. In the evening, we offer you local specialities in our hotel restaurant. Situated at an altitude of 720 metres, the hotel offers a wonderful view of the Grosser Arber mountain, also known as the king of the Bavarian Forest. Right outside the front door you find several hiking trails, bicycle paths and cross-country ski runs. Behind the hotel you find the Mittelsteighütte forest with its magnificent population of tall, ancient trees. The Zwieslerwaldhaus Skiwanderzentrum (cross-country ski centre) lies nearby, while the Grosser Arber alpine ski resort is some 10 kilometres away. Attractive day-trip destinations include the glass-producing town of Zwiesel, historic mining town of Bodenmais, and 3-river city of Passau. You can even explore the nearby Czech Republic.

Reviewed By 89brigitteWie oft kommt man nach einiger Zeit in ein Restaurant zurück und ist dann bitter enttäuscht - das war hier überhaupt nicht der Fall. Kalte wie warme Küche sind wunderbar angerichtet und geschmacklich bestens; das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist nach wie vor sehr gut. Einziges Manko: die Öffnungszeiten. Unter der Woche nur noch abends geöffnet, am Wochenende gibt es warme Küche mittags strikt nur bis 13.30 Uhr. Ein Trost: das kalte Forellenfilet war sensationell!

Reviewed By Paul K... TripAdvisor bislang nicht tauf meinen Hinweis ein, dass es im und am Waldhotel eine fabelhafte Gastronomie gibt! Sehr schade und ich hoffe, dass es jetzt mal eine Ergänzung gibt, denn genügend Infos samt Fotos zeigen bereit!

Reviewed By merrik1Wir hatten eine der größeren Ferienwohnungen, die geräumig und gut ausgestattet war. Leider war die Einrichtung eher alt und nicht wirklich schön, die Betten nicht übermäßig bequem... Der Verwalter war allerdings sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Haus an sich liegt sehr ruhig in schöner Landschaft, also ideal für Leute, die entspannen wollen. In der Umgebung finden sich diverse Ausflugsziele, Läden und auch Restaurants. Alles in allem, kann ich hierfür meine Empfehlung geben!

Pretty nice hotel in Lindberg
Reviewed By April GWe were there for a wedding weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful, and was able to accommodate close to 50 wedding guests. Rooms were clean, small kitchenette too (with plates and glasses). Environment was very welcoming to individuals, couples and families with young children.
