Ristorante Mille e Una Notte

I have been at Mille e una Notte several times, always in summer, enjoyed the marvellous terrace and incredible view and had always simple and excellent food.I tried it again in autumn, and ate inside.Very disappointing. The table was below a loudspeaker with pop/radio style music. Too loud.Table was too near a service room (not the kitchen but kind of a storage room). The service was at the real minumum, guess there was just one cook and one person at the tables.Food was below standard, an overcooked fish, and the appetizers were all of average quality.I don't know if they either changed management or they size the place down for the cold season. And from the windows, because of the bad inside illumination, the view was not existing.Guess that the magic of the place is only in the terrace and the view, and most probably they improve the quality of food and of the service in summer. Not recommended, maybe to be tried only in full summer.

Couldn't dine here on our first day as we hadn't made a reservation, snagged one for the next day in a little nook they have down a few steps closer to the beach where they have set up 4 tables. Service was great and the food was good as well. Make sure you get a table outside, the nook can be a bit sunny but once the sun goes down its really pleasant.

This restaurant is not on the main drag in Camogli, but on the street just behind it. Everything about our meal was terrific -- sizable portions of wonderfully cooked food; very nice decor; pleasant atmosphere; and engaging and likeable hosts.I rarely comment on others' comments, but a have a couple observations about the recent comment that gave this restaurant a poor rating and complained about portion size. First, I took note of what was served to many other diners, and everyone's portions looked sizable - not just ours. Second, the commenter has written only four reviews and 3 of the 4 were one star. I discount such reviews.

I was here already few times and I do reconfirm my great appreciation for the food and the environment. Enjoy the chef recommendation based on fresh fish availability (such as raw prawns and shrimps). Tagliolini with Bottarga and raw egg yolk are really tasty and delicious.Staff and the owner are attentive and friendly.

Every time I want to eat a good "focaccia con formaggio" (focaccia with cheese" I go to Recco and buy it in "Moltedo bakery". I can say it is really the best around the area. I live in Rapallo.Besides this, they have good bread. The service is great from the entire staff, but a special thanks to Emanuela. Some time ago my sister and her children visited me from Belgium, my nephew (6 years old) fell in love with Emanuela, my brother in law loved the focaccia that we bouht it two days in a row.So if you visit this area do not miss it, wednesday and sunday afternoon it is close.

We be waited to post this review until I’d calmed down and will ultimately explain. We chose this restaurant due to decent reviews on Trip Advisor and entered (following a reservation) an empty restaurant early one evening last week. The lady who served us was very pleasant and speaks English well so we could discuss the menu in detail. The food was fairly good, my wife and I swapped first courses as I wasn’t keen on the borage tagliatelle served with the vongole and she wasn’t keen on the gnocchi. If truth be told they were both just ok but I’m not sure why you’d change the winning formula of spaghetti vongole, maybe it’s a local thing.?We had the special for main, a decent sized piece of barone (bass) which was served with a few roasted potatoes. I liked it but my wife didn’t like the texture and I understood that as it had a “sous vide” consistency and indeed I would have preferred it hard fried or roasted for a crisper edge with a soft inside but I guess that’s just our predilection. After we’d finished our meal we were asked whether we’d like dessert so we had a cursory glance at the menu but explained that we had a train back to Rapallo to catch in 15 minutes (we were told it was only 5 minutes away) and that the next one was an hour later so we’d like the bill. It came in 5 minutes but I was ignored when I showed my credit card immediately and she started serving other tables. I didn’t expect her to drop everything but taking my money so we could catch my train would’ve taken less than a minute. We were checking our watches but were consistently ignored so we scraped together the €100 euros in cash that we didn’t think we had and handed it straight to her and left as quickly as we could. You can probably guess that we missed our train (by two minutes) and had to hang around for another hour - we were furious, it could so easily have been avoided but for some strange reason she wouldn’t come over. Well I had to knock a mark off for that, had I written this the next day it would’ve been two marks. The food we ate - which is all I can speak of - was ok to fine, the restaurant is pretty and we had a good glass of wine as recommended.

A tiny fish bar, 4 tables, near the harbour, run by lovely couple who provide a very limited menu of delicious, original, local fish dishes. Local herbs, home cured tuna, light, delicate "sauces". Reasonable price. We went twice and worked our way through the menu. Our favourite. Don't miss it.Thank you Robert and Chris. It was a pleasure meeting you!

The restaurant itself is beautiful! The waitress was so tentative and polite, checking if we wanted more light, which we didn’t. We liked the atmosphere at is was. She was great! The food however... we ordered batuta di tonno as we seen a picture they posted of it on Facebook a few days earlier. What came out on the plate was nothing like the photo nor was there even a third of the tuna on the plate. The focaccini were great! Really salty! Highly recommend! The pasta with salsa di mare was ok. The gamberi fritto were beautifully soft and tasty. And the desserts were barely average ! Slightly disappointed at the food as it looked much more presentable on Facebook! Some dishes were really great some really not. Think the place could have great potential but as it’s only opened a month there are some issues still!

We were staying at the Grand Bristol hotel in Rapallo end of September 2016 and the weather was excellent so walking about we passed the Villa twice a day for 4 days before we worked out how to get to it as their signage was a bit lacking - but eventually went into the communal park and found the entrance gate! So glad we did. It is an oasis of calm away from the bustle and traffic of downtown Rapallo and simply stunning views from the terrace. Very romantic and nicely furnished.Had dinner and then came back for our last holiday lunch. Both times the service was attentive and the food excellent. Enjoyed the risotto with strawberries and the sea bass baked in salt - well cooked and not overdone as sadly it can be.Overall it is a cut above any other restaurant in Rapallo and we would thoroughly recommend seeking it out if you are staying in or near Rapallo.
