Lazio Lodges | Places to Stay in Lazio

April 26, 2023 Tambra Mccollister

Lying at Italy’s geographic and historic heart, Lazio (or Latium) was the seat of the Roman Empire, and as such is teeming with ancient attractions, especially in the Eternal City of Rome itself. To the east, Tivoli has Emperor Hadrian’s exquisite and massive Villa Adriana. Civitavecchia, today a major cruise and ferry port, has been Rome’s main harbor since the second century. Many pre-Roman sites dot Lazio too, like the Etruscan necropolis at Cerveteri, dating from the 9th century BC.

AMAZING HOTEL 10/10

Reviewed By Kathy S

This hotel is perfect! Location is ideal, located on a pretty street a few mins walk from all the main sites, with a beautiful restaurant just outside the front door. We had the delux double and it was beautiful, spotless clean, had everything we needed, shower was great and it has soundproofing so really quiet and temperature was perfect. The view from the rooftop terrace… WOW! we had breakfast up here each morning and also at the end of our evening, it’s stunning! And last but certainly not least the staff… so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond, they made our stay so enjoyable and when we visit Rome again in the future we will definitely return to this hotel, wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Curiously delightful karma

We somehow were (unexpectedly) housed in a bungalow/apartment with our dog. We hardly went in the main building except for the buffet breakfast but were struck by the curious aura of calm and tranquility...

nice place but $30 to airport via owner and FAR from airport but advertised 6 miles away

nice place but $30 to airport via owner and FAR from airport but advertised 6 miles away. We had to pay $42 euro for staying 1 night for taxes and a ride to the airport to get home to the USA. We chose this place because it said only 6 miles from the airport but that is NOT true it is far about 25 minutes and expensive to get back there via them or taxi either one....with that added in we could have stayed at the airport hotel for the same price and been so much more convenient.

We drove down from Rome to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, (Gran Cafe L'Ulivo - but that is another story), and found this little "villino" - not a "Casale", in a pretty part of the countryside, outside Sonnino. The host, Davide, is charming and was most helpful. As many previous comments state, it is clean and newish. It must be said however, that I do not believe this accomodation should be used in winter. The air conditioner, which tried to blow hot air, could not cope with the cold temperatures of the Latina winter and we were freezing cold. Even in the depths of January, the radiators were "off"!! They were possibly never turned on! The host did offer help at any hour, but unless the heater were on, nothing could have warmed us. The accommodation is small, clean and compact, but ok!

Lovely guesthouse

Reviewed By clairemeola

We really enjoyed our stay here, even if it was only for one night. We were spending a couple of days at the beach and needed somewhere close by to stay. This was clean, nicely furnished and more importantly had AC!! The owners have been thoughtful in what they provided (plenty of towels, multi hole plug socket, shoe store, allocated shelf in the fridge, clothes airer on terrace...) Bathroom had a little box of toiletries and kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to make yourself a meal. The breakfast provided was continental with a good choice of what to eat. The playground was a real bonus for us and our 3 year old daughter. There were shops and pizzeria nearby! Would happily return.

A very satisfying stay

The place is a bit off the main attractions of Rome, but one can reach the Vatican in 20 minutes walk or by public transport. The staff is helpful and replies promptly to emails and calls. The room was very clean and quiet. The price we paid was very competitive and reasonable for the quality. There's plenty of lovely bars and restaurants around the place at Circonvallazione Clodia.

L'Accordo

Immersed in a park of olive trees from Tuscany and Lazio, the land of the Etruscans, is the agreement. The farm is in an excellent location for any type of trip: 10 min. the famous thermal waters in Viterbo, 30 min. from the beaches of Tarquinia, one hour from Rome and two from Florence.Music is our passion, the large ROOMS, dishes typical of Lazio, the paths in the park, everything echoes this family atmosphere.

good service, nice pool, great food

Reviewed By Godeste G

enjoyed two days at L'Accordo in August'15. first night was in a fairly dark room (flat) with no AC (this was our fault as it was specified no AC.. ). enjoyed a lovely dinner with great food and company. the restaurant was fully booked but the staff managed to find a table for us :) second night the staff managed to provide a room with AC (we are very greatful for this effort!!) The bed in the AC-room is so and so.. too soft on my side, with no spring-support (right hand side of the bed had no support, left side had full support). otherwise a great room to have!!

I stayed at SheLisa for the second time and am planning to keep going every time I need to be in Rome for business. Lisa goes the extra mile to make sure her guests have everything they need. The rooms are nice and clean and have a pretty terrace!
