Wonderful stay!
Reviewed By DWGibbonsMy husband and I stayed at Fehrenbacherhof April 10-14, 2019. The house, our room, the grounds and the forest behind the house were all wonderful. Our room was very spacious and immaculate -- both top my list for any accomodation. The heated wall in our room was a super cool surprise! I would definitely recommend this spot to any friends headed to the area. Our host Doris was super sweet and a delight to chat with!!!

clean decent Hotel with a tendency to cheesy
Reviewed By Tj DThe Hotel is located at the entrance to Lauterbach - a tiny village near Schramberg. The village is rather small and I am not aware of anything to do or see in the town itself. The good news is, that the through street is not much travelled and the town is pretty quiet (at least was during our stay). The Hotel and rooms were clean and the WIFI worked excellent anywhere in the house. Shower water is hot with good pressure (certainly something that can be disappointing in some Hotels. Make sure not to get rooms 30 or 21 (maybe also the same rooms a floor below, I'm guessing 20 and 11 - not sure though), they are way smaller in size with a storeroom feeling. Décor is a bit on the cheesy side, but everything is well maintained and works and I slept well in the fairytale-like bed. I did not have breakfast at the Hotel and judging from what I saw in the morning it is not worth spending an extra 10 Euro for it. Better to drive to a Cafe in Schramberg or Hornberg for breakfast. There even is a tiny bakery/cafe in Lauterbach for that matter. All in all the place for sure has seen better days, but the staff keeps it tidy. The value for money is ok and the Hotel makes a good base for day trips in the Black Forest.

A very nice hideout
Reviewed By hogue79The hotel is located at the very end of the village after a steep drive up. The staff is very friendly, it's clean and the pool and the sauna's are very nice. We missed the whirlpool function to massage after a long day in the surrounding hills. The breakfast is wonderful arranged and all Covid-19 measures are taken. The dinner in the little restaurant of the house is delicious, but only enough if you just arrived. If you're coming from a day hiking or cycling, it's not enough by far. We can recommend the house for very relaxing vacations. The Wifi in the hotel is available but very weak and unstable.

Wonderful holiday
Reviewed By pandorabpaThe hotel is located in a quiet spot. We were there for a week on half board. Both breakfast and dinner were amazing, with plenty of choice and delicious food, with locally sourced ingredients. The spa is great, although there isn't much space to relax and the noise of the swimming pool is often audible. Beautiful grounds and views all around. Even the small fitness room in the basement comes in handy. Many possibilities to sky, walk or just visit historical cities in the area. I'd definitely return.

Reviewed By indasuckWe spent the night in a nearby Airbnb, and were looking for some dinner. We decided to “wing it” and try this place. We were not disappointed! I personally had the rump-roast with fries and it was probably the best I’ve had in Germany! My wife had the trout and loved it! We are going to be going back again before leaving the area!

Nice hotel and great breakfast
Reviewed By Annemiek LThe hotel is next to a road but that is absolutely no problem, even when you sleep with an open window. The owner is a great host and really enjoys his job! Dinner is fine too. Breakfast is top as they serve fresh fruitsalad and a wide range of bread and cheese, ham jam etc etc. Breakfast is served so no buffet!! And an egg to your choice!

We have 2-room and 3-room apartments with kitchen, balcony / terrace and view to the south on the black forest mountains. What else do we have here? Swimming pool (pool season is from mid-April to mid-October), sauna, outdoor chess, slackline, table tennis, trampoline, our tree-house for the kids, the public playroom, the sports area, barbecue grill on the eastern terrace, campfire bowl for great evenings - and most important: beautiful nature and recreation - just vacation!
Black Forest paradise
Reviewed By Koos VWe had a good sized apartment for the two of us and our 3 year old daughter. Smal kitchenette with everything you need.There is an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room and game room for the kids and a large communual balcony with a big (gas)bbq wich you can use. Next to it a fridge with cold soft drinks, beers and wine all at very affordable prices! This combined with a great english speaking host and the most lovely dog (Lola) you have ever seen makes this place a must visit when exploring the Black Forest. We stayed for 3 days but could have easily stayed here for a week or so.

Neuer Geheimtipp in Lauterbach
Reviewed By OrglerSeit 2019 gibt es neue Eigentümer dieses Restaurants und ich habe erst neulich davon erfahren. Also nichts wie hin und das ausprobieren. Und alles ist so wie es sein sollte: Kleine Karte, alles frisch zubereitet und außerdem schmeckt es ausgezeichnet. Da muss ich einfach wiederkommen...........

Bei Freunden zu Haus
Reviewed By Lars UOktober 2017... das siebte mal bei Hermann und Hildegund. Wie die letzten Jahre auch, sind wir im Herbst wieder in den Schwarzwald gefahren. Natürlich haben wir uns bei Familie Hug einquartiert. Wir schätzen die familiäre Atmosphäre sehr und fühlen uns immer wieder sehr wohl. Seid unsere Tochter ein knappes Jahr alt war, fahren wir hierher. Sie freut sich immer wieder sehr auf „Ihr“ Zimmer und auf alles, was wir so unternehmen. Wir gehen seid ein paar Jahren immer wieder in den alternativen Wolfs-und Bärenpark, der seid neustem auch Luchsen eine Unterkunft bietet. Lohnt sich wirklich sehr! Aber zurück zur Pension Hildegund... Nach der herzlichen Begrüßung bezogen wir wie immer „unser“ Zimmer 1, Sachen ausgepackt und dann gab es einen von Hildegunds leckeren Kuchen. YAMMI Die beiden organisieren an unseren Ankunftszeiten immer eine kleine Wanderung, dieses Mal zum „Hinterholz“. Dort haben wir eine Kleinigkeit gegessen. Abends haben wir uns dann alle im Aufenthaltsraum zusammengesetzt uns erzählt, was es so neues gibt. Wie man es mit Freunden halt so macht, die man längere Zeit nicht gesehen hat... Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf den nächsten Besuch bei den Hugs!
