The decor of the restaurant looks like a typical German braustube (well except for the small neon antlers) and I expected to find breaded and fried meat on the menu... but what a surprise! The food is anything but typical or traditional and this restaurant would rank highly in any town, German or American. Fresh vegetables were the highlight of every dish we tried and the preparation was unexpectedly good. We had curried chicken and vegetables over pasta, and a selection of sauteed (and al dente) fresh vegetables. I've visited Schramberg twice and eaten in two different restaurants, but Braustube Schraivogel will be the first place I visit if I'm back in the area.

We have been visiting Hornberg and our friends for over 35 years. The Tannhaeuser has outside seating on the sidewalk. Hornberg is a very quiet village, and the Tannhaeuser offers the opportunity to intermingle with the locals.My favorite meal here is the Jaegerartz (hunter style) Schnitzel, which is served with small button mushrooms. be sure to try the Bratkartoffeln (roasted potatoes and onions)

Wir waren vor der Fasnet dort zum Aufsagen. Neben dem ausgezeichneten Ambiente wurden wir hervorragend bedient und auch das Essen war sehr gut. Da capo !

A typical German dinner menu with considerable choice and all at an acceptable price. Choosing the "a la carte" selection from an English menu our carpaccio of beef was the best we have eaten whilst our choice of trout from the farms lake was cooked to our choice with a wonderful almond butter sauce!

Als Notlösung - unser eigentliches Lieblingsrestaurant hatte für uns unerwartet - geschlossen. Also hier mal rein........ und naja. Der Bringer ist es nicht.Die Ãbersichtlichkeit der Speisekarte setzt sich auf dem Teller fort. Vom Geschmack und dem Anrichten etc. mal ganz abgesehen.Lieblose Tütensuppen und TK-Päckchen bräuchte ich da nicht mehr....Ansonsten würde man wohl sagen: Sie waren stets bemüht. Wobei bemüht leicht übertrieben wäre.

Our stay at Gasthof Hirsch was again a great experience all around, from the warm welcome, the comfortable rooms, to the excellent culinary experience in the beautiful restaurant. All the dishes, carefully prepared with the freshest ingredients, showed the amazing culinary skills of chef Zimmermann, and the service, under the watchful eye of the proprietress, is attentive and homey (Ms. Weber, by the way, is an amazing baker and diners can enjoy her superb breads and cookies). A carefully selected wine list, fairly calculated, will delight oenophiles. A sense of generosity and well being suffuses the Gasthof Hirsch and we can't wait to experience its hospitality again in the near future.

Wir waren in der Mittagszeit dort, zeitgleich mit einem Reisebus aus dem Sauerland und dessen Insassen. Der Service stand sichtbar und leider auch hörbar unter Druck. Sehr kurz angebunden und im Ergebnis bei einer Bestellung von fünf Personen zwei Fehler bei den gebrachten Speisen. Unter Rücksichtnahme der zuvor beschriebenen Situation aber entschuldbar. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar gehalten ohne etwas vermissen zu lassen. Das Essen entschädigte dann für alles. Die Kraftbrühe genial. Die gemischte Fischplatte war ausgezeichnet. Der Fisch muss kurz zuvor noch gelebt haben. Butterzart. Die Fleischgerichte auf den Punkt und das Essen für unsere schwerstbehinderte Tochter perfekt püriert und auch garniert. Das Essen insgesamt ausgezeichnet und zu absolut angemessenen Preisen zu erstehen, kleine Abzüge verhindern ein gesamtes Ausgezeichnet. Trotzdem kann man dieses Haus und seine Küche bedenkenlos empfehlen..

You know a place filled with local that is as remotely located as this one has to be really good. I can't imagine how difficult it must be, but their customers are loyal. Very interesting history and the climb to the top of the tower permits an exception view of the Black Forest.
