Miscommunication with our waiter was part of our issue. The food was overpriced and we only got 3 pieces of meat each for over 100 dollars. The staff was nice and the meat was good, but it was pretty dissapointmenting overall. The drinks were watered down as well.

We just returned from this restaurant in our hotel (1,2 km) and started directly to recommend this place. Good food, nice atmosfeer, friendly staff and for free a joyfull evening. Within this small restaurant they created a good atmosfeer and if the beef wasn't cooked oké........ that's your own fault. If it's cheaper or expensive compared to other restaurants we don't know. We enjoyed the 'Yakuri's favorite Seven Stairs Wagu', the bbq fries and finished with the peach compote with vanilla ice cream. The beef was really good, of course some cuts were better than others, the chicken and pork were tasty as well. The dessert was good but not really a compote, it was a peach half nestled in ice with a scoop of ice cream on top. I had the red wine sangria and really enjoyed it. A great way to start off our Kyoto stay!

I had a delicious Beef Steak Rump complimented by a nice White Wine.As you can see in the picture, the portion is quite small-ish, but is, indeed, delicious. The "big" rice is rather small, though. Waiter offered my group of 4 free drinks with our meal if we wrote a TripAdvisor review right there in the store. I declined. This is a violation of TripAdvisor guidelines. This can artificially inflate the ratings of the restaurant. Very disappointing.
