Kingston Parish, Caribbean Food Guide: 6 Cafe food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Kingston

October 28, 2019 Roger Rusk

Reviews on Cafe food in Kingston, Kingston Parish, Caribbean. Far from the north coast resort towns, Kingston is Jamaica at its most authentic, a sprawling city of contrasts spread between the east coast and the Blue Mountains. Kingston's diversity is reflected in its disparate neighborhoods, from the wealthy northern suburbs to the less affluent downtown. Travelers can discover the spirit of One Love at the Bob Marley Museum, or sample delicious ice cream at Devon House. Nearby, the former capital of Spanish Town offers insight into the area's history.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. A nice cosy hangout for breakfast, lunch and dinner on special days and get this- the breakfast menu is available as long as the restaurant is opened. You can get an omelette at 5:00 PM if you so desire -cooool. The food taste great and presentation - appealing.

I had a 2 day meeting in a conference room of Pegasus Hotel. 24 Seven Cafe was located next door. It was very convenient for me as I could have a cappuccino and a cinammon bagel before starting my working day. The place is welcoming, bright, often packed with clients working on their computer. This creates a lively and young ambience and brings a touch of trendiness to the luxury hotel.

We had to wait for our tour to begin, so the One Love Cafe was a welcome place to hold tight and have a cool drink while waiting. There is a statue of Bob Marley outside and some wall murals so, with all that, the wait passed quite quickly.

I frequently come here for the fantastic French pressed blue mountain coffee... No frills good food & great oasis like vegetation all around you. It's easy to forget you're in the middle of the madding city of kingston. I recently started having meetings here too and love working around the covered picnic bench styled tables. If someone is running late for a meeting I browse the Jamaican art in the gallery on property and chat with Dougie or Tina who I've known for years. Great vibes!!!

We visited as part of a excursion and this was our lunch stop, usually this is one of oyr favourite parts of excursions visiting local restraunts. Unfortunately due to my husbsnds chicken being raw I cannot rate any higher than a 1. We did I form staff of raw chicken they told us no it's not, its the sauce. There was blood oozing out from chicken. When we returned to bus around half said they experienced same as us raw chicken. We think part of the issue 2 tour groups arrived at same time and they were struggling to get food out in time. The vegetable soup starter was lovely and toilet was very clean. Also great views.

Susie's Café is a very resilient spot. It has been around for years nevertheless it continually adapts to current trends and themes. It has remained contemporary despite being around for well over 20 years. My favourite dessert is her world famous plantain tart. They are known for coffee and smoothies as well as sub sandwiches. Great meeting spot. Good for just hanging out. Strong WIFI service so you can just go and chill even solo.
