Giman Free Beach Resort location, had been untouched for three decades due to the ethnic conflict. The coral reef and shallow waters created with the bay set a fascinating location. The barrier reef is home to a variety of tropical fish as well as offering sightings of whales, dolphins, mantra rays, reef sharks and other exotic sea creatures. This underwater habitat provides a perfect diving spot for tourists.

Reviewed By Marc BAt this moment I am unsure as to where the blame lies but I wanted anyone that has an erroneous booking for the next few days to know This hotel is CLOSED. No Manager, No chef, skeleton staff. Unfortunately for me I didn't know until after I had travelled 3 hours to get to the Giman free resort. I eventually spoke with the Marketing manager who put the blame with Agoda and I have since received an email from Agoda passing the buck back to the Hotel. My point of this review is just to let anyone with a booking it is currently closed and there is no sign of it opening soon. I have marked the hotel down to 1 star as Even if the fault lay with Agoda/Booking.com etc I can still today book a room for tonight and that should of been checked by the hotel company even if they highlighted the problem, they also have means of contacting every customer to inform them of the closure. I will not comment on the condition of the resort or its readiness for business but for now my advice is stay clear.

Reviewed By Geeth1232Just went there as a sudden plan and hotel is bordering to the ocean. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and even they guide us to explore around pasikuda. Ovarall we are happy about the hotel.

Location is great as walking distance to many of the large hotels or public beach. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Food was very tasty and catered towards anyone as requested. Has wifi if needed. We spent our day at Uga Bay and spent our mornings and night here having breakfast and dinner Sri Lankan style. Host can purchase anything you like and have it available for you which will save you the running around. Highly recommend this place for any traveller visiting the Pasikuda area. Looking forward to visiting again. I recommend confirming with the guest once you book from booking.com or Airbnb as the host does not have a web server connected to both sites. This way you will be guaranteed your reservation.

My 2 friends and i were on our way to trincomale and since our tuktuk "chandler" is not exactly what you call fast or furious, we decided to spend the Night in passikudah. When we rocked up at inn on the bay, the owner greeted us with a warm "how many nights? You have to pay now". Before even thinking of getting our wallet out, we asked to have a look at the room. He wasn't happy about the request but showed us the very basic room and told us the price. My friend wantrd to start haggeling but didn't even get to finish his sentence. The owner turned around, shaked his had and kicked us out. Just like that. As simple "no, i am sorry, thats the fibal price" would have been enough. But we're actually super glad, because this is how we ended up at ashram accomandations just a few streets further. Loveliest family, most comfortable rooms for low budget travellers! “AHSRAM Accommodations" is located in one of the most popular and beautiful beach area called "Passikuda". Why our place is better for our beach visitors? You don't have to rent vehicles or walk too long to the beaches. Our place is located rite in between the 2 beaches as you see the map. Just 5 minutes walk to "Pasikudah beach" (Calm Beach like swimming pool) Just 4 minutes walk to "Kalkudah beach" (More beautiful and wild... (highly recommended for foreigners) If you want to explore the village and the nearest town we give bicycle free of charge and rent out motor cycles/scooters at reasonable cost. (You must have a driving license from your country) We can also help you to arrange transport to your next destination. AHSRAM accommodations has spacious garden with swings and slide for the kids. Many shady places to sit and relax. Even the kids can play cricket or football with our children from the village who comes to study and play in the evening. Typical eastern Srilankan food with reduced levels of spices served to foreigners at reasonable rates. Foreigners are welcomed to learn some Sri Lankan cooking. Our Free "Wifi" will never disappoint you and I guarantee that it will help our every single guests to do your browsing. Rooms are available in different ranges at different prizes. We have upstairs and ground level rooms, we have rooms adapted for wheel chair users too. Also we have A/C and non A/C rooms. In non A/C rooms we provide single, double and triple accommodations. Reviewed By Suhanya JWords cannot describe how incredible our stay at Ashram was.The food, the atmosphere and the beautiful welcome that Arul and his wonderful family gave us were the highlight of our month long trip around Sri Lanka! Firstly, the food is out of this world. Prepare to experience the most tender and luscious crab curry that money can buy. All food is cooked fresh onsite, and the wonderful chefs are incredibly accommodating to all dietary requests. The food is five star restaurant standard, but prepared with the quality and love that you would only ever expect from your mother's home cooking! There is genuinely nowhere else in Sri Lanka that is able to provide such an array of dishes at such high quality. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are even served in a beautiful alfresco dining area underneath the stars! The accommodation is a cross between a hotel and an Airbnb, providing guests with a truly unique experience. You are able to have all the homely comforts of a homestay, whilst not sharing any of your space with other guests or homeowners. Arul and his family live onsite, and more than happy to assist us at every point during our trip. They are incredibly knowledgable about the local area and their recommendations are invaluable. Amazingly, the accommodation is situated directly between two stunning beaches- Passikudah and Kalkudah where we enjoyed a variety of activities such as jet skiing and scuba diving. I cannot recommend Ashram enough- the genuine hospitality and accommodating nature of Arul's family is truly unparalleled.

Reviewed By Reisefiebern67Absolut gemütliches ruhiges Narurressort mit sehr geräumigen Bugalows und sehr guter Ausstattung. Badebucht ist auch nicht weit. Personal und Besitzer sehr freundlich. Absolut zu empfehlen. Wir haben auf der Durchreise 1 Nacht hier verbracht. Eignet sich aber unbedingt auch für einen längeren erholsamen Aufenthalt.

Reviewed By Jantheman444This place is situated by the road and it is really far from the beach it is more than 2km. They adverise that is only 800m from the beach! You have to take a tuk tuk to get there. Not recomended for familys.

Never again worst hotel in Sri Lanka
Reviewed By Tycho KThe title says it all. We stayed one night at this hotel. Although we had booked a spacious room we were given a very very tiny room. The room was very dirty, the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in a few years. Besides that the service was just horrible. The staff barely speaks English they look Uninterested. When we wanted to order some food and drinks we had to step inside to place the order. They didnt clean our table after finishing dinner and we had to wait for 1,5 hours for some chips and fried chicken. Dont go here..
