You guys. I had a REAL burger here. Not your typical Japanese "HAMBURG" but an actual bacon and avocado cheeseburger, with lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a fresh bun. Nevermind that the potato wedge fries are fantastic, or that they have actual yellow mustard on every table, or that they serve Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, and Cream Soda. THE BURGERS!

Umitsuki (ocean-moon) is a quiet laid back cafe near downtown Kanoya. I tried the Tarako Omu-rice for lunch. For foreigners not familiar with Omu-rice, it is basically an egg omelet filled with flavored rice inside. The Tarako (fish roe) cream sauce was a subtle blend of the saltiness of tarako balanced with a white cream sauce with a little olive oil added. While I would have preferred a slightly thicker sauce, the flavors were quite good and the portion size was filling. The service did seem a bit slow for Japan - especially as there were not too many patrons at the time. Otherwise, I would visit again another time to try some of their other menu items.
