We came to Yamanaka for the famous onsen and the gorge. We worked up quite an appetite and then looked for somewhere for lunch. Not so easy. TripAdvisor came to the rescue. Close to the onsen, La Monbetta gave us delicious Italian/Japanese food for a low price, with excellent service.

If you have grown weary of Japanese cuisine , this is the spot for you. The pizza and pasta are so authentic you have to pinch yourself to make sure you are not in Italy!The food is excellent, the service is also excellent. Canât say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. Such a lovely pleasure to have lunch here.
