Kim Faa Hotel Bonanza

I've eaten here a couple of times with friends and it's always been packed out, with British people mainly. The owner is very flamboyant and friendly and he does make you feel very welcome upon entering the place. It's just a basic roadside restaurant with plastic tables and chairs really but it has become a bit of an icon in Baga amongst regulars. The prawn crackers served as a starter are massive and very tasty but the portions that arrive thereafter are quite modest and the overall price of each dish is quite expensive, I feel, for what you order. However, my friends love this place so I'm happy to join them because the food is always served hot and is fairly tasty too. If you want a change from Indian or European food this place is a good restaurant to come to, mainly because the staff make it run efficiently.

We visited Bobbys shack numerous times whilst in Candolim. Bobbys came highly recommended to us so we gave it a try and wow!!!! The staff were very friendly and chatty the food was magnificent the chicken wraps are amazing. At night it was lovely sat watching the sun go down with a beer on the beach. We were a family of eight , we had four grandchildren with us our son and his partner. The kids loved to play with Bobbys family so everyone was happy. It’s such a lovely relaxing shack Bobby is a lovely guy and his staff are lovely too, nothing is too much trouble for them, they even organised our taxis as the taxi rank guy kept trying to rip us off. If there’s anything to complain about it’s the 9.30pm closing time, but that was because of the election. We had an amazing time and if we go back to Goa I’ll make sure we get a hotel within walking distance of Bobbys shack. We loved it.

This must be among the few places where I’ve seen such an elaborate menu for Indian main course dishes. Superb choice and great taste which gets better with efficient service and thoughtfulness. For dinner the adults got knives in the cutlery and the kid got a table knife which speaks volumes of the lady of the house who makes it a point to give attention to all the tables. Beautiful setting in a garden ambiance. Must do ! And yes, they also have a bar !!

The restaurant is peaceful with lots of space between tables. The food as ever was excellent. A vast menu which takes a bit of reading. You never feel rushed. A lovely place.

A lovely Restaurant with nice clean Toilets and Premises. Excellent food and Service. Nice tasty food although quite spicy for some tastes so ask for mild if in doubt. Quite a busy place so may need to book in advance. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.

We came to Alex shack after hearing all the wonderful reviews. We can not understand why possibly just loyal customers who have not tried else where . The food was terrible the worst we had in any shack, atmosphere lacking with no welcome although the regulars were being attended to . The shack itself is very plain nothing pretty about it to make you want to go either. Was disappointed after the hype we had heard and a few other couples we met in candolim also said same that they had visited and wouldn’t return this year . Was a shame. Joanneg184Thank you for your review. However I'm astounded at how you can so easily criticize anything especially opinions of my valuable customers who have come and enjoyed themselves at my shack. They came with no expectations and loved it. And far as the kheema masala and Naan is concerned... I can understand that maybe it wasn't as per your expectations but what I can't understand is when rocky asked you how your meal was, you said that the portions were big. At that time you could have easily said that you didn't like it. My guess is that if you had told us the truth then, you wouldn't have been able to complain about it in your review. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions and to voice them. However I feel that it's not in good taste to generalise about opinions of others regarding my shack. Whether a customer is new or a regular, we always look after them well. It really is a shame that you visited my shack to judge rather than enjoy. All I aim to do is help my customers enjoy their long awaited holiday to the best of my ability... nothing more than that and nothing less.

Visited this restaurant around end of May 2019. So there was no rush. We had a good experience.Food was awesome and tasty. Service was quick. We'll surely try it again.Didn't like one thing in their service though: There were several mangoes placed on display section for serving. A foreigner too was enjoying mangoes besides our table and hence we too ordered for the same dish, but restaurant said they can't serve it to us (but served it to foreigner). Didn't like it at all that honestly it got compensated with tasty food they delivered later.

We have a hit list of old favourites and new places to try so rarely do we return to a restaurant multiple times on the same trip but Vinny and the boys keep drawing us back. Vinny is a well-loved host and always manages to get it just right. I guarantee from your first visit you will feel at home. It's quite a talent he has. Vinney's Indian food knowledge is incredible. I say what flavours we want to eat and hey presto it arrives. Our favourite meal of the last trip was a sweet pumpkin curry with garlic grilled prawns. Just wow.. All wrapped up in a garden setting. Recommended for lunch as you have a nice beach ambiance.Lovely restaurant & very friendly staff. We were there early on Sat eve, 8.30pm.We were distinctly uncomfortable- loud, very cold & dark. Not our ideal dining conditions- maybe we are getting old!The Prawn dumpling was actually very good as was the mixed rice but the green curry was the least authentic we have ever had- straight from a packet.
