Decent hotel in a fabulous area

Reviewed By Hawkeye131

This is an average hotel (its 3-star rating its pretty accurate) - it is modern and the room was just big enough, with a comfortable bed and good shower. The staff are pleasant. The one dinner and several breakfasts we had in the restauranr were good - tasty food and good-sized portions. The location is ideal - sort of halfway between the many interesting and beautiful places we wanted to visit. But what surprised and annoyed us was that the hotel management is using the pandemic as an excuse not to clean the rooms (only after a 5-day stay). Clean towels and amenaties are avaiable, but only on a self-serve basis.

Great all inclusive option!

Reviewed By Nathalie P

We stayed in a bubble tent and loved it. This is a great family spot with an amazing view, many activity options (even a day camp for kid). We took the all inclusive option so had breakfast and 4 course dinner as well as activities included. We only stayed 2 days as we had a house rental after but would have loved to have had more time and will certainly try to go back another year. Only negative comment is that the bubble tents are very hot during the days so you need to be out and about and the bathroom building could have been cleaner especially the day we arrived.

Perfect spot

Location, location, location! Waterfront and a small beach in a central location. These motel units have almost everything you need. While the rooms are small, they are perfect for two people. Well equipped kitchenette. Luckily for us we were travelling with another couple and could borrow a large saucepan from their unit as ours only had small ones. They even provide a few pouches of coffee. The view and being on a beach was great. Walked the beach quite a few times and picked beach glass. When we first arrived we were disappointed that there were no windows facing the water but came to appreciate that when Post Tropical Storm showed up! Building is well built as you could barely hear the roaring sea and the building shook very little. Rolande, the housekeeper, was great. We were in Unit 8. Bed was very comfortable but the pillows are flat as pancakes! Rolande was able to find us better ones. I would recommend that they invest in pillows and provide spare blankets in the room. I speak French so I served as the translator for our group as the owner and Rolande’s english is very limited. Would definitely return to this motel!

Paradis Bleu

Perfect Hostel

Reviewed By yulneverroamalone

Paradis Bleu Youth Hostel was a really cool place to stay! The setup was awesome and very accomodating for a younger crowd, but also very functional for an older clientele. The guests were all respectful and kept the noise to a minimum after 10 pm, which was great for us as we were always up to catch a sunrise. The place has everything you need for a short or long stay; full kitchen, dining area, and lounging area, but also with a plethora of things to amuse yourself with like a pool table, poker table, tons of water sports offered on-site and obviously FREE WI-FI. The private rooms were extremely comfortable, the shared bathrooms were really clean and the hosts were more than accomodating. Definitely up there in terms of hostel experiences for us! Prices aren't overly expensive either and there should be a package to fit all budgets.

Free WIFI and private parking. We are open round year. Be our guests and welcome to Magdalen Islands.

Clean and central to many amenities

Reviewed By dawnsway97

The room was very clean and cleaning staff would come as often as you wanted. The inn is also within meters of excellent restaurants, pubs, bars and convenience stores. A five minute walk takes you to Tim Hortons and a couple of fast food outlets if that’s your cup of tea. It’s also literally across the road from the ferry. I’ve stayed at the inn for the past two years and highly recommend it.

Home away from home with great views!

Reviewed By polskizMTL

We were 8 traveling together; 5 adults 3 children. We booked 2 separate family rooms on the second floor with great views of the water. Each room has one double bed and one bunk. Bed linen and towels are provided and very clean. There is a table and a shelf with plenty of hooks to place and hang clothes. Rooms are very clean. Our stay was 8 nights and we could have stayed longer. It really is like staying with family. You get to meet other travelers which makes for great encounters. As in other hostels, you follow house rules; clean up after yourself in the common areas such as kitchen, dining room, sitting room. Breakfast is served (and included in price of stay!) between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. We had lots of fresh fruit, bagels, local breads, cream cheese, peanut butter/jam, fresh juice on a daily basis. On given days, there will be waffles or pancakes. There are plenty of fridges to store your own food if you wish. You have full access to the kitchen should you choose to prepare your meals and eat in. There are plenty of coloring books and crayons to keep the kids occupied. There is a piano that anyone can play if inclined. Bathrooms are shared and rarely did we have to wait to use any one of them. 3 are located on the main floor. 2 have a stand-up shower and toilet with lots of counter space to put your things. The other one is same but with a bathtub/shower. There is one bathroom on the second floor; sink/toilet. The staff at this hostel is simply amazing!! We felt so comfortable there and were warmly greeted with a smile every day. A special thanks to Sylvie and Jean-Claude for our daily chats, Claudette, Karine, and all the rest of your wonderful staff for making our stay so special. We will always cherish our time with you and the other patrons as well. We wish you much continued success!
