Huanchaco is a popular vacation beach town in the city of Trujillo, Peru. Huanchaco is known for its surf breaks, its caballitos de totora and its ceviche, and is near the ancient ruins of Chan Chan. Huanchaco was approved as a World Surfing Reserve by the organization Save The Waves Coalition in 2012 This historic town is part of the tourist circuit called the "Moche Route" or "Ruta Moche". Today despite modern developments, it still retains its old charm.

I've had the steak with artichoke sauce, and the filet mignon, with mushroom sauce. Both were excellent, as was the service.
The waitress is not very good. Slow and inattentive, but most nights, it's one of the two young men, and they both seem to be European trained.
The service is prompt, and they check in, regularly, to see how you're doing. (an unusual feature in Peru, where you're pretty much left on your own)
Arrive just before sunset and you won't find a better view of the sunset, in Huanchaco, without sitting right on the beach.
The place is elegant & charming, and the prices quite reasonable, for the wonderful meal you're getting. About $36/s, for a steak dinner.
I took my son, a professional chef there, when he was visiting, and he was so impressed, we returned twice.

went there twice.. had the menu of the day
1. very bland lentil curry with super buttery rice
2. extremly salty quiche with salty and buttery rice.
Not a very good place.. vegeterian restaurants are always my favourite with their creativity and healthiness..
This is not very good at all. there are better options in the town..

Great place for a special meal. Looks out to sea and pleasantly cool with a sea breeze. Impecibale presentation and complimentary canapés and souvenir key ring. Wonderful ceviche.

Owner is a nice guy. The streetside grills are entertaining. The game of ushering in new customers entertaining to watch.
Peru has much tastier potato fries. Side salad was not interesting.
Can improve the overal food experience with simpler and better compliments to the delicious grilled fish and meat. Grilled vegetables for everyone and tastier french fries maybe?

This is not a fancy place. You come to Pisagua because of the food, not the looks. The local is quite old and the wall paint is coming out, the tables are of plastic and not really nice. The view is nice if you seat by the door, Huanchaco y a lovely beach for surfers...
But the food is UNIQUE! I am Peruvian and like to eat, I have been to many places and tasted several kinds of ceviche, some of them were superb, but this ceviche is better, the best I have ever tried, it is very simple, just a few ingredients, ask for a good fish (they have a version with cheap fish that is not bad but it´s not the real thing) and that amazing chili (aji mochero), and that´s it, the perfect ceviche.
There is also quite nice "picante de langostinos", a spicy shrimp dish, also "cangrejo reventado", a great crab and egg dish, you should go and try several dishes...

We ate here as recommended by our tour Trujllo Tours. We were no disappointed. The Sea Bass Ceviche was recommended and it was very good. We split an order and it was adequate for a lighter lunch. The view over the reed boats is great as well as watching the local traffic go by. Beer was good and cold, too bad only offered small sizes. Prices are reasonable. Service was very good and fast, we were able to have time to walk around.

Good spaghetti - it can be ordered with many different sauces and comes with a soft drink and garlic bread. And this package costs 12 soles - great deal! Add this to the 10 sol happy hour drinks - 2 for 1 and you have a tasty meal with good drinks for really cheap. The service is very fast and this place is seems to be a good local spot to eat out as many tables were occupied. We came back for breakfast - which was okay. Wouldn't recommend it for that. But the dinner was good.

I took a friend who came from philadelphia to taste peruvian food. Very tasty food, best Ceviche clásico and chicharron de langostinos. Plus, the view was extraordinary, lovely sunset.
