Our first meal in Hokkaido after landing. We were so hungry we knew we had to visit the Ramen Dojo. Ended up here after walking through the various ramen joints. Service is friendly & quick. Quite small area so gets stuffy after awhile.Ordered the miso ramen with chasiu & egg and a nice cold beer. Broth was just average. Expected a more robust flavor. Chasiu was nicely charred. Egg was done right. Noodles springy with a nice bite to it.Overall an average meal. Would recommend if in the area although there are lots of choices in the dojo.

Simple surroundings, kind owners. Delicious food. The ingredients are field-fresh and prepared by a quiet gent off to one side. This meal was prepared, cooked and served by one charming lady. We asked for a miso broth and a pork broth dish. The noodles were al Äente and wrinkled. The pork shoulder meat was without gristle and as tender as I have ever tasted. The pork broth was sticky and not too unctuous. The miso was very mildly salted but deeply flavoured. All of the vegetables were al dente but softly infused with flavour. The soft boiled egg, like the pork was just heated in the broth. A well- chilled large bottle of kirin washed it down perfectly.This is a lovely, traditional kitchen. Do not expect an english menu. Picures only. The food ie the best of its type I have tasted in Hokkaido. At the moment it is the best ramen I have had anywhere. Please go one at a time and don't tell too many about this quaint kitty spot. Itadakimasu!
