Kyozushi is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Japan. The menu offers an assortment of delicious Japanese comfort food like salads, gyoza, tempura, etc. but of course sushi is their best dish. The wide variety of seafood is always fresh, and their sushi is made artfully by the skilled and humorous chef. I recommend sitting at the counter so you can observe the process and crack a few jokes with the staff - who love to practice English! The food is outstanding, atmosphere is warm, prices are reasonable, and you'll leave feeling like part of the family - I can't recommend this place enough!

While my Japanese wasn't strong enough to read the menu, I asked the staff for their recommendations and was brought a beautiful assortment of Japanese comfort food (soup, tempura, salad, yakisoba) that more than filled me up for a great price. A local family has owned this restaurant for 40 years, and they are wonderfully warm and welcoming people with a skill for hosting and cooking. I highly recommend eating at Shiosai!
