Went there with a local friend on a hail swept spring day! As expected, the place was packed. I liked the setting and the buffet lunch - 4-5 herring varieties for starters fit the bill, though many lunch goers may be disappointed with the limited menu on offer.

Really like the breakfast buffet. Simple, but great. Hot and cold spreads, local specialties, tea, coffee, milk and juice. Great with kids. Ah, and I forgot, cakes as well!

We had lunch at Garage, burgers, fries and chilli. Kids did not finish their burgers, as for me I thought the cheeseburger tasted too much "cow" and I almost felt bones in the minced meat. Not tasty. Kids' burgers were also cooked medium well, therefore it could be an idea to ask the staff to have the kids' meals cooked well done. The fries were good anyhow. The staff did not feel friendly, almost felt we weren't welcome (although we were not loud or particular in any way...). No smiles, no service. Sat outside since it was fully booked inside, and had to ask for plaids (really cold day). Maybe we were not their "target customer" (family with three adults, two kids and one toddler), but it would be nice if all polite people felt welcome. Will not re-visit.

The restaurant is based in a very old building with authentic atmosphere and local touch. There's plenty of activities- Concerts organised by the management for people to attract the clients which makes the place even more attractive. We were invited to the concert by local bards and enjoyed our time there. The carrot soup Was OK, service pleasant and the evening a succeeded.

If you travel by here in the summer, do stop here to eat. I am sure all food here is good, but the pork fillet with the sweet potato fries was really good and actually some of the most tender meat I ever had served.
The host family and staff are extremely friendly. All in all a very good experience and good atmosphere in a middle of a vineyard and rustic old traditonal pittoresque buildings. Lots of people on a sunny day. Guided tours, and home grown wine.
Good white wine to the pork fillet actually. And if you like the wine to much, they have reasonably priced rooms and apartments available in beautiful old buildings. Even the neighbor next door on top of the hill have a wonderful estate with an extra building with an apartment. Have some wine and ask for it;)

After a busy week I wanted nothing but a peaceful, quiet meal. I had great service and outstanding food at Hamnkrog!
They served the best Bruschetta I ever had in my life! And I had a meat Sandwich over a toast with chips, asparagus and greens with a spicy creamy sauce that was outstanding. The beef was cooked to perfection; the veggies were tender and all flavors were right! I did miss a diet soda they did not have but everything else was perfect!

HolySmoke BBQ

I'm trying really hard to understand the excitement and hype surrounding this place. Swedish people love their grill and BBQ, starting as early as February given a chance. But this place is not for the ones expecting that.
What everyone is buzzing about is the American BBQ wow factor. Basically I'd contribute this to their faiblesse for everything from the US (and lack of cooking skills of their own). If it's good there, they must do it here.
So one ventures away to this place on the countryside, only to get very disappointed on the hype/price/taste ratio.
If you want meat, you buy a mandatory platter of coleslaw (with no taste) and pickled onions for 70SEK (ridiculous in itself) and then choose the meat. The brisket for 180SEK (!) was dry, boring with no flavour and nothing to remind you of BBQ, it had to be drowned in some standard off-the-shelf sauce to be swallowed.
A side of bean salad would be best forgotten, and a sausage sticking to the theme of no BBQ-taste and no flavour at all was sad and pointless at best.
The only thing actually enjoyable was the Sandwich with "burnt" pork belly. Of course it wasn't even close to burnt or grilled or that crispy, and the sauce was what made it properly enjoyable. This was something I could actually pay 95SEK for once more.
We took a look at the chicken on the neighbours plate, and saw another thing we were happy not to eat.
As someone already wrote, it's way to expensive for what you get. I'd steer clear of this place and do it myself for a more tasty result.
