Himeji Hotels | Places to Stay in Himeji

One of the best preserved and most architecturally demonstrative, Himeji's 400-year-old castle is so exquisite that it alone is worth a trip to the city. The castle is close to the train station, so it makes an ideal short stop on a day trip to several sights.

Excellent location with a view

The Hotel Wing International Himeji is located just a few blocks from the famous Himeji Castle. That means one can go near the castle any time. I went there early in the morning as well as late at night to take beautiful photos. To me, that is essential during my travel. What's more, the hotel has a veranda which is lighted, allowing guests to sit and enjoy a different view of the castle, day and night. The hotel includes also a tasty Japanese style buffet breakfast. It is not a big hotel; however, it has everything I need to enjoy during my stay.

Very close to station, great value for money

The hotel is steps away from Himeji Station. I found the staff members helpful and the hotel super clean. My room was quite big by Japanese standards, and the onsite onsen was fantastic after travelling all day. At night, there is free ramen in the restaurant area. I would definitely stay there again.

The best part of the room was the fact that i could see Himeji castle from afar. Location was good with many eateries around the area. Value for monet stay in my opinion and i will always choose this hotel anytime.

Great family friendly guesthouse near Himeiji Castle

We found this guesthouse looking for an inexpensive and convenient place to stay near Himeiji Castle to view the cherry blossoms, and this place was definitely it. This family-friendly guesthouse has comfortable rooms, clean and well maintained communal bathing areas, and tasty optional almond toast breakfast. The owners are super friendly - strongly recommended.

Wedding factory - not for European guests!

Reviewed By TrishYorkUK

We have just spent one night here and that was quite sufficient! The shuttlebus failed to meet us at the station ( the taxi fare was re funded). We then discovered that the rooms were not ensuite and that we were expected to use the public bathing rooms. We complained bitterly to the manager who then agreed to allow us to use the bathroom in the adjoining suite. We asked about dinner but were told that this was not possible as it had to be pre booked! The hotel is in an isolated location some 20 minutes taxi ride from the town! Japanese cuisine was the only option available for breakfast - not even fruit could be found for us! The hotel is in a beautiful location but its primary purpose is to cater for weddings as the floor plans demonstrated - there is even a chapel complete with organ! The hotel lobby contains wedding costumes etc, Very little English is spoken so communication was difficult. Our tour operators chose the hotel for us - a grave error on their part! The hotel would be fine for clearly what was its fundamental purpose but is not suitable for European guests.

Meets expectations and includes buffet breakfast

Reviewed By Boogalie

It is located a manageable walk to Himeji castle and near Himeji station. The room was small. You can’t keep your luggage open on the floor. But I expected this from budget friendly business hotels in Japan. The hotel I stayed at Haneda was the same size and cost more. I liked the options for breakfast. I would not count on the complimentary dinner. It starts at 7 pm. We were downstairs by 7:07 pm and there was almost nothing left. There are plenty of places to eat in Himeji anyway. The bed was very firm which has been the same for the other hotels where I stayed in Japan. I didn’t find it noisy. Front desk clerk is helpful. I would stay here again for the same price or less.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in hotel. It was easy to find, as soon as you exit the JR Station, look to the right and you can see it in the distance, reception is on the 3rd floor, follow the signs from ground floor entry. Well appointed rooms, tasteful decor, efficient reception, nice lounge area with coffee and cake. Opt for the breakfast, one of the better buffets we have had in Japan, nice selection of Japanese and Western items, including a fresh egg station. Short walk to castle and next to dining and shopping area
