In need of beer and food in Nieuwkerke, we stumbled across this little place. Away from the usual stamping grounds, it was full of locals; and where the locals eat is the place to go!Good food, attractively priced, and no communication difficulties whatsoever. We plan to return when next in the area.

Groot restaurant met plaats voor velen. Beperkte parkeermogelijkheden aan het gebouw. Het interieur is sober, kraaknet, maar mist toch wat sfeer.De bediening is vlot en vriendelijk. Het eten, meer bepaald de paling, is er gewoon verrukkelijk. De prijzen zijn democratisch. Wie daar rond etenstijd voorbij rijdt zonder te stoppen begaat een vergissing.

Thank you to the manager for his response to my post below. Since you cared enough to respond, I would like you to have the details of this incident. We have learned that when we travel if we simply ask for âcoffeeâ we are often served expresso, which we do not care for. We ask if an establishment has âAmerican coffee.â On the day in question I asked your server, a young lady, if you had American coffee. She said she did. I asked her how much it was and I âthoughtâ she said 3 euro. I subsequently asked for an American coffee with milk. My husband and son were to join me in moments for coffee as well. What I got was a teacup HALF full. I was shocked. I gave her two 2 euro coins.... never got change. My husband and son joined me, took one look at what I got and said they would not get coffees after all. I took a picture of the half cup because I could not believe it. I donât know what happened with your measured machines or your server and my change. All I know is I paid 4 euro and got half a teacup of some kind of coffee. I rarely give a rating of 1.... only 6 in about 400 reviews. I am very glad that most of your reviews are positive. You are obviously doing a good job. I just have to be honest about MY experience, and it was not good. Thank you again for your response.

I was leading a coach of young students on a two day battlefield tour and our hotel was nearby. The breakfast was rather basic so I popped into Maona - best thing Iâve done and the perfect place for a luscious choice of breakfast and coffee which was badly needed! All freshly made with a wide choice and the coffee is to die for... I will definitely return when Iâm next over - it does both takeaway and sit in so all options covered.A superb place!!
