Reviewed By PaulhawtinAbsolutely fantastic place. The owner (Anton) and his wife are very friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and quiet. The hotel has a bar and restaurant - the food is lovely and the menu has a good selection of different food to eat. The drinks are cheap with different types of whiskey etc to try. You have a 15 minute walk down to the beach. Golden Sands is a great resort with plenty of places to eat and drink. My room is very nice - great value for money. It`s clean and the WiFi is excellent. The hotel is quiet at night and this ensures you can get a good nights sleep. As for one poster on here that said the room had human waste in it - what a load of rubbish. The hotel is spotless and very clean. As a Destination Expert for Bulgaria on Trip Advisor I have stayed in many hotels in the country - some good and some bad. However I will give the Poseidon 10 out of 10. I look forward to returning and I will certainly recommend the place to family and friends. Best, Paul

Bottom end of basic: but compared to the university accommodation, a step up
Reviewed By OpenmindedAngelMake no mistake, this Kabakum hotel is extremely basic but then the room was on a par with south-east Asia prices... two star at most based on the low price paid per night (no breakfast rate). The rooms are very sparcely furnished to velor minimum, floors marked and thus look unclean; rooms also have one of those all in bathrooms, where the shower on the wall isn't separate from the sink and toilet also attached to a wall. Holes in the ground that don't drain water immediately, and broken tiles, and cracks around the wall. Don't spend too much time in there ! Other friends were in other rooms, and reported pretty much the same. Staying at a another hotel locally before moving here for a university very short course; made the other hotel seem 4 star. Cleaners don't necessarily change the bedsheets or pillows (I noted this when I spilt a little bit of cola on the pillow; next day after returning, the pillow had merely been turned over...) bottom sheet just pulled straight. Towels I think were changed. That said, the cleaners performed a miracle; I arrived early and they let me put the bags in the room, the previous guests must have died and gone to war, the cleaners deserved a medal, which is why I'm not going to be too harsh on staff. They brought a new toilet roll, when I ran down and asked. The receptionist is a funny lady with no English, and all gestures but understands. Fortunately I had a Bulgarian local friend who helped me out (he had young family so that's why I was in this hotel for the university). Best thing is: she realises wifi is important, they have THREE wifi points, giving a strong signal on each of the floors. Its a fact of modern life, good wifi here beats the water out of the showers that comes at a trickle from old shower heads that you don't want to examine too closely. EATING: there's two good local restaurants a very short walk away on the junction - come out of the hotel keep going down and straight, you'll see a great place with a good menu, and very cheap and good food. We're told be locals the Kabakum restaurant was expensive for the quality delivered. Definitely be polite to the staff: locals are aiming to please. This is a hotel more for university and locals.

The hotel is looking like spanish hasienda,it’s very warm and luxury .The rooms are big enough ,staff is very kind,food is very tasty,the outside pool is so relaxing ,nobody to disturb you. This is like real oasis in bulgaria ,i feel better than maldives

Comfortable Sun loungers and shaded areas and sunny areas with very comfortable cushions. Short walk into Golden Sands and easy access to the bus for Varna (bus stop is called Journalist). Staff are all helpful and their English is good. Airport transfer was offered and was very efficient. I would recommend Hotel Angy.

I can say enough positives about how we were treated by the staff. Truly, genuine in their hospitality. My respects to the owners for providing such a great introduction to Bulgaria. The room was spacious, clean - and kept clean with daily care by the most energetic housekeeper I have ever encountered. The view spectacular; the private beach well outfitted, but bring drinks with you as there didn't seem to be many vendors nearby. The breakfast was good, with a little something for everyone. Kid's seemed quite happy with the splash pool and plenty of room to play outside. We will be back.

AND THEN AFTER 30MINS OF WAITING A BLONDE LADY 40+ came and she wasnt able to speak english, we said that we are a bit dissapoiment and we would like to know if can we order, and then SHE JUST TOOK THE MENUS FROM OUR FACE THAT WAS SO RUDE AND NEVER EVER HAPPEND Току-що поставихме на масата, дойде млад човек и ни донесе менютата ... Amazing place
Reviewed By Wouter DStayed here in for a couple of days past summer and never got around (and completely forgot, sorry!) to write a review, but this place definitely deserves one so here I am, 9 months later, because I still have memories pop up from this place. Wes and Lynn really make the place, they are so friendly and welcoming, and really make you feel at home at their very relaxing place. It is a bit further out, but that means you can go to more quiet beaches as well as the crazyness called Golden Sands (which can be a lot of fun too). Spontanious beach trips with the whole group, BBQs, the occasional (beach)party, and just relaxing at a pool around the corner. I had an amazing time here, really wished I could have stayed longer! Thank you so much Wes and Lynn (and sorry for the super late review)!

A very good place to stay at
Reviewed By aixcrackerGood friendly place to stay. If you arrive at Varna Airport you can have them to pick you up at the airport. The location is nice as it is a bit of the most busy area of Chayka, Varna. You can easily walk to the Golden Sands beach, a short 3km walk there or then take the bus there. The apartments are nice and clean. Good kitchen available. Wifi is available. The pool area is nice and clean. The family who is running the hotel is very friendly and are happy to assist you if you have questions. But be ready to brush up your German. English not the choice of language in the Varna area.
