Reviewed By lleebahrThe Hotel Big Mama is an incredible value in terms of its rooms and in a really cool area with beautiful places to walk by a lovely canal. They have a Hour Hour and full bar, have breakfast and delicious coffee. But, without exception, they have the kindest most helpful staff I have encountered anywhere in the world. As a single woman, non-German speaker my first time in Berlin during the times of COVID, I had a lot of anxiety about everything from where to get my Covid test to fly home, to safety about walking. Every staff member made me feel welcome, was incredibly helpful, and was a unique and interesting person to get to meet and connect with. There is nothing more important when you are staying somewhere you don't know than feeling you are valued and can make connections with people. I am deeply grateful to the staff at Hotel Big Mama for making me feel at home. A huge shout out in particular to Marlen, Mila, Joanne and Walid-- THANK YOU for making my stay in Germany a welcome one and taking such good care of me.

Bargain stay
Reviewed By MarcusHurleyThis hotel was a real bargain. It’s a few minutes walk from the train station and then maybe 15 minutes walk to the old town of Potsdam. Our room was very quiet, a reasonable size and had decent wifi and plenty of power sockets. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat there but there was a breakfast option. Prices were very good.

Reviewed By hossein2012- very good rooms: clean with roominess - very good breakfast - long distance from train station to the hotel (we propose Hotel to define a way to help guests from train to hotel: by boat or bus or ... - very good pool and SPA - good lobby with good books and games - good entertainment for children - very good view in the room (409 room is a good choice) - the hotel upgraded room for us - the receptionists were great - the captain (shuttle boot) was great -the hotel manager was very kind to us and did a favor to us (books for my small daughter) - the surrounding of the hotel is excellent

Nice place to stay for Bodensee car trip
Reviewed By Igor KLocated few minutes drive from Friedrichshafen center. Rooms are clean, big and well maintained. Breakfast was very basic. There is private parking for hotel guests, but if you arrive on weekend afternoon, it may be occupied by restaurant visitors. In this case there is a free public parking on the other side of the street.

Could do better but not bad
Reviewed By 2739emmaHotel room nice and clean. Hotel has a late night bar underneath which is quite noisy. We were facing the river so quieter than the street rooms. Absolutely no information in the room. I was asked to check in online, I did and that was the end of the email conversation. Had to go through my booking confirmation to find a telephone number to use WhatsApp and find out about breakfast and wifi. The lack of information is very disappointing.

Reviewed By Ingrid49_12We stayed one night at the hotel. Clean and nice room with a balcony towards the garden. Wifi worked without any problems. No Englishspeaking TV-channel. A large and varied breakfast. Excellent location by the sea.

Excellent Stay
Reviewed By keullisWe loved our stay here: perfect location, friendly staff, clean and historic apartment with little goodies tucked away should you need them (toothbrush, bandaids, earplugs). Only downside is no elevator which may be a problem for those with lots of luggage, but at check in we were helped with our bags up the stairs. It was a very hot day when we visited but the rooms stayed cool at night with the windows open, and we did not need to use the fan or any earplugs. Step out the door and you are in the most charming historic old town. Don’t forget to try the city’s famous ‘Smoke Beer’ just around the corner. If I could plan my trip again I would have stayed here much longer and taken day trips to the surrounding area.

Reviewed By Anurag DHad a great experience living in this hotel with family, for a month. The hotel has all necessary amenities, and you'll not feel away from home. I recommend this hotel for shorter and longer stays in Hamburg. The location is perfect and well connected with the rest of the city.
