Germany Wedding

Reviewed By heinzie2019

We stayed here for 3 nights as we were attending a family wedding in the area. We arrived at 8.30pm and checked in, we checked what time restaurant was opened till which was 10.00pm, we left out bags to our room and returned to restaurant at 9.00pm only to be told that the restaurant finishes taking orders at 9.00pm so we could not get anything to eat in the hotel, The receptionist did book a table at a restaurant in the nearest town and a taxi to get there the cost of the taxi was €22 to travel 8km and €22 back to hotel.it was a pity the hotel did not make an exception as we just arrived after travelling from Ireland and it was just 9.00pm when we were in the restaurant. Our Hotel room was spacious but basic but had a modern bathroom with good shower, the room had a nice view of the lake, there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room and when we enquired about this we were told that only the deluxe rooms had these facilities, I would expect tea/coffee facilities in all rooms in a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was adequate. Personally I would not stay here again if I was visiting this area as the resort is very quiet which may suit some people.

Fine unless you have to cancel—then it’s a nightmare!!

Reviewed By Sarah B

We went to Bostalsee last year and enjoyed it, even though they are outrageously expensive. A three day weekend cost us 700 just for the room and then you have to pay for every last activity, food, etc., separately. It adds up—A LOT. For what we paid for the room, food, and each individual activity, we probably could have gone to Disneyland. Anyway, despite the cost, it wasn’t enough to keep us away because our daughter loved it there. So, we booked a spontaneous long weekend in February. Well, thankfully I added cancellation insurance to my package because my daughter tested positive for COVID the same day we booked and we had to cancel as the trip was scheduled two days later. No exaggeration—the cancellation process has been a NIGHTMARE. You have to file through a separate insurance company and the amount of hoops you have to jump through just to be refunded your money is completely ridiculous! We’ve needed to submit birth certificates to prove she’s our daughter, a whole medical questionnaire from the doctor, the positive test, booking and cancellation emails, and it goes on and on and on. Without that insurance, it wouldn’t even be possible to get a refund. The process has genuinely felt like they are trying to make it so difficult to get your money back, that they want you to give up (which we won’t do.) Our trip was booked for February, we canceled within 24 hours of booking, and it’s now April and we are STILL haggling for our money. It should not be this difficult to cancel a holiday and be refunded our money. We will NOT be returning to a Centre Parc as this whole experience has been utterly ridiculous.

Expensive - for younger kids only

Reviewed By John H

It cost 137 eur for a family of 4.. Not far off the price of europa park!! The rides are all really aimed at pre-school age, mostly it’s climbing frames and interactive toys, for that reason I felt it was just too expensive. Because of our friend the corona virus, masks were obligatory on all of the attractions.. and many of the attractions were closed. The food was well priced at 10 eur for a family sized 36cm pizza

Place to focus

Reviewed By Johan J

We stayed at the manor as a group breaking away for focused work sessions. The rooms (especially bathrooms) are very neat and well designed. Upmarket catering equipment in the rooms we stayed in. Very welcoming and social kitchen setup. REALLY nice food, especially dinners: very tasteful and nicely presented. Nearby lake is easily accessible and very clear and nice to swim in (splash around or open water swimming). Decent internet was actually quite reliable. Really enjoyed the stay and will definitely want to come back and use it as a base for exploring the surrounding towns by bike. Very well suited and equipped for self catering.

We came here from Iceland. Two day stop on our way from Vienna to Frankfurt. This was for us a hidden oase. The staff was perfect and we felt that our well being mattered to them. We had, a family with a 14 year old son and 8 year old daughter, a relaxing and fun holiday

Quiet location in renovated farm

Reviewed By Maciej N

We had a fantastic stay in this very quiet location. Rooms are very big, clean and beds are comfy. The room has tasty, rustic furniture. Owners are very nice and helpful. Decent breakfast as well. We did not have a chance to explore the neighbouring area but it is close to the forest for some good walks. Would recommend for families visiting Tropical Islands it's only 20 minutes drive away and the location is much nicer.

Kind of romantic hotel

Reviewed By J0rita

Near the city centre. Parking close by but you need a blue parking card. Parking max 2 hours close by. Had room nr 3. First floor. It's an old house so wooden floors which do make noise. Bed was good. Room was warm and because the staff of the restaurant opposite, was a lot outside, we couldn't have the window open. There's some sort of airco. But we don't like to sleep in a draft. The room and the hotel as the garden are very nice and a bit romantic. The hotel is run by a lovely lady. Breakfast was really good. Fresh fruits, different ones. Boiled and scrambled eggs. Several cheeses and cereals. Coffee or tea. And several different kind of buns. What was, in a positive way, was the nice floral smell in this hotel. Would we go back. Yes. ?
