Buurman & Buurman is well located right in the Wageningen centre place and therefore the outdoor seating area is particularly pleasant. As it frequently happens in the Netherlands, the service was a bit slow. Nevertheless, both waitresses who attended me were attentive and friendly. It was worth waiting though. I ordered the chilly marinated ribs and they were very tender, juicy and tasty and were served with nice chips. Very nice pub food! I ordered the XL portion and I was not disappointed as I was served two full racks of these tasty ribs for a very reasonable price. I really enjoyed my meal at Buurman & Buurman and I would recommend you to try it out if you’re in Wageningen. Don't go there too late though as the kitchen closes at 21h30.

Apart from the Wageningen Arboretum and the free expositions in De Depot there, one should also pay a visit to the Linnaeus restaurant in De Depot. We had lunch there and enjoyed it very much. The choice of food and wines is excellent - there are ample vegetarian and even veganistic choices possible. The staff is very friendly and well trained. No wonder that the place is so popular that even for lunch you should make a reservation!

I was very disappointed from the student dinner (15€ for 3 courses). Having a look at the menu, it looks very nice, but the three courses for students were a big disappointment. To begin with, the courses we got are not available on the menu itself. The best course was the soup, unfortunately not more than three sips. As a maincourse, we got a hamburger, with low-quality meat (kind of a Frikandel) and a very small portion of fries. The vegetarian option was some kind of puff-pastry with a bit of cale. The dessert was a slice of pink gelee. All in all, this was unfortunately not even worth the 15€ we paid. It seems to be a good restaurant and I am sure the food might be better, but I wouldn't go back there and would not recommend to take the student dinner.

Nicely located in the header of Wageningen Centrum. Spacious atmosphere and friendly staff. However, only decent Tapas. The menu was interesting, but I wasn’t to happy about my choices. The peas-dish was quite boring without flavours. The cold dish - Chorizo starter was a good choice though. Quite costly, and you’ll need to pay for water as well.

The chef is certainly creative. But the dishes of our tasting menu were of very uneven quality. Too often the taste did not match the beautiful presentation. The shallot bavarois was wonderful. But then the combination of a Marsala cookie with chicken skin does not work, as the crispness of the chicken skin does not make it self felt with the cookie. The meat with the 'main course' was very good and tender. But what an anti-climax to be served fries and mayonnaise during such a menu. The huge desert was pretty weird and very salty in taste. All in all, there is ample room for improvement. And I think the kitchen needs to test their meals more before sending them out to the customers.

Historic Hotel and fine dining Well, we were promised a great evening and that is what we had. This hotel with all the historic connotation delivers. The website is great and I liked the page that features the employees: great. We had a large suite , very comfortable and access to all a traveler needs. We took diner in O Mundo and this comes with shock and awe. The servicing staff is pleasant and helpful and the sommelier knows his trade. The 7 ‘tasting’ diner option was just great. Amongst others tt included , oyster as well as foie gras and was well prepared and did not disappoint. Wine options were great, but I would have like to see more options from German wineyards.
