I was a little bit sceptical of eating at this restaurant after reading Some of the other reviews but I am glad I decided to as it was very good. From the large bottle of cold cobra to the fresh crispy popadoms all was very tasty. My curry was hot and spicy, just how I like it. The rice and side dishes were all very good. I will be back for more.

Having recently moved to the area i've been trying out the local takeaways and this one is by far the best! The staff are friendly, the food arrived fresh on time and the food itself was faultless. Would highly recommend.

I have been a regular customer most Fridays alternating with our favourite Chinese.However the quality and the taste of the food has deteriorated. They use the same sauce for every dish and the food is bland. This is very poor for an Indian take away. I have traveled to India so have a fair idea with regards to flavours. This started about 7 months ago and although we returned a few times hoping it was due to a change of staff but it hasn't improved. I did point this out.Will not be using them again.

Chicken tikka starter no good, cold plate, tepid food and flavourless. Chicken chaat was ok. Tandooori king prawns were nice. Vindaloo - sauce was fine but the lamb was chewy and not enjoyable. Cauliflower bhaji also no flavour and didnât seem like fresh as too the vegetable curry, mirrored frozen veg. Very bland Indian food on the whole, would not return, much nicer Indian restaurants around.Dear Steve F, Firstly I would like to thank you for leaving us a review, it is very important to hear back from our guests, be it positive or negative...this helps us understand our guests and improve our service and food. We have eaten here a few times, and being Indian curry lovers, we can safely say this is the best in town by far! Super quality food, excellent service and a nice ambiance. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Me and my girlfriend decided to go in indian restaurant....but we were confused that we didn't find the best restaurant... I called my friend tom, he told me about the raj....time was approximately 7.15 pm...A gentleman gave us a nice table. My girlfriend had butter chicken and i ordered garlic chicken tikka chilli mossalla for my self.. Both of were fantastic when we enjoyed to eat....we naver forget there hospitality.. Thanks to the raj.....

Went with friends who visit regular, we havenât been for a year or so.Booked table... only table available so full.Service excellent very friendly, food was tasty and good portions only exception was my husbands chicken tikka dansak, (which he has every time and is a expert for that dish) he sadly didnât enjoy.he said that dish was too sweet and not enough spice.Finished meal with chocolates and a complimentary baileys and brandies.Would visit again but would mention about dansak Hi Elaine thank you for your review, We at The Pilgrims Korai always look forward to hear about your experiences. We live in Gidea Park and often meet friends for dinner in London (where we all work), but for a change, we thought we'd meet locally. Our friends came in from Billericay, three stops on the train to Shenfield from us - absolutely perfect! After a quick drink next door, we walked into Empire. A lovely welcome, relaxed before being jumped on for quick service, enjoyed our poppadoms and a drink and then we ordered! My girlfriend and I ordered chicken tickka and salmon tikka starters for our main cours, but with loads of veggie dishes; sag paneer, onion bhajee, sag aloo, cauliflower bhajee, coconut rice (which wasn't on the menu, but they accommodated us) - all were absolutely delicious with plenty to go around, which our husbands were delighted about. The men ordered chicken shaslick and chicken tikka massala with breads - lovely and fresh and, suffice it to say, not a morsel remaining on our plates! Good house wine (we didn't think we'd drink a whole bottle - how silly of us!), and to finish off, a complimentary drink for us all. Great service, super staff, scrumptious food ................... no more getting the last train home from Liverpool Street for us - Shenfield was ideal and very much looking forward to our next visit - thank you very much.

Our food here was excellent and made freshly but quickly. It was a Wednesday night and so pretty empty but there was little atmosphere which is a shame but can be worked on as the food is worth 5/5. Thanks for the awesome review, Nicki! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and weâre happy to hear that you enjoyed your meal, Wednesday is middle of the week therefore it's not that busy night for us but please visit us on weekends we hope you will see the beautiful atmosphere at jehan curry hut.
