The venue itself is a pleasant local pub resataurant however I did find it falling below standards which is dissapointing. When serving you at the bar it would be nice if they were listening to you and not having a conversation elsewhere. Having to repeat your order several time and then NOT get your drinks order correct is a prime example. I also ordered two pizzas of which one was very burn't on the bottom and the other one had plastic in the food. This I got a refund for. If you want your Quiz nights supported .... support us with good service.Hi dcutts1,Thank you for your review. Booked last minute for a meal for myself and my partner for Valentine's Day. Had high expectations due to seeing some amazing food reviews.Arrived at restaurant and was seated very quickly as there was only one other party in the dining room. Served our drinks and while browsing menu was disappointed not to see a valentines day menu just the usual a la carte menu. I ordered the soup of the day for starter which was on the menu served with rustic bread. When it arrived i was shocked to see that the "rustic bread" was an english breakfast muffin.....which was soggy and very chewy. Not a great start!We both ordered the lamb shank for main course, which was nice. And our puddings were great - the best bit of the meal. I did express my views of the soup (which tasted like it had a bag of sugar poured in) and they kindly removed this from our bill but in all honesty i was really disappointed as i expected better. Lets hope if and when we return it will be better.On the plus side the staff serving us were exceptional - very kind, polite and helpful.

Tried the lunchtime menu whoch was a set price. There was plenty to eat (donât worry if the plates initially look small), no room for dessert. Nice surroundings and crockery and glassware. The staff were very friendly and happy to make substitutions to accommodate my vegetarian daughter. Only comment I could make is that ideally the food could have been slightly hotter as itâs served on cold plates. Overall, very enjoyable experience and would definitely come again for some great food in a relaxed setting.

Went for dinner with a few friends, was greeted very warmly and showed to our table. Service was fantastic very attentive. Waiter helped us with the menu as it was our first time.Food was fantastic really enjoyed everything starters, mains and a cheeky dessert too. Full of flavour and good portion sizes.Will definitely recommend. Thanks guys

With over 170,000 readers a week and being in the top 2% in London on Tripadvisor I feel as though I recognise a good venue for lunch. And, in fairness, this is a good venue. Service great and food excellent. They let themselves down badly in only one aspect of the whole experience! That was that they advertise wine vintages incorrectly and as such overcharge for what they sell. I asked for confirmation that they had exactly what they advertised and was told that they did not but had something similar. I accepted that and told the waiter that I wanted what they had but it was NOT as expensive as the one advertised and offered them a slightly reduced price which was rejected, clearlyNow without enough thought!This may be an establishment that is concerned more about £1 than a client that may have come back time and time again!!!!!Good for the food but the owner needs to be fair that if he/she doesnât have the advertised product then be a little considerate about the value!!!

We visited on a busy Sunday lunchtime. There was a good selection of food - roasts were on offer, but I opted for liver, bacon and mash this time. Hearty, traditional fayre - we ordered a side of parsnips too - delicious! Service was friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being very busy.
