We enjoyed a lovely lunch of the best sandwiches we had ever had. All ingredients locally sourced and chosen for flavour. The cafe is decorated with monochrome photographs of Chester and there is a easy, pleasant ambiance. Not for people with disabilities hence 4 stars rather than 5.

After a fitful night due to a poor accommodation we went for comfort luxury breakfast and not disappointed. We had a mix of savoury and sweet pancakes. All lovely. Only dock from a 5/5 as it took a while for food and fresh orange juice not available (1st world crisis!). Big table ahead of us.Does exactly what is says on the tin.Otherwise spot on and could easily be rolled out as a national brand.Thank you for leaving a review following your visit to HP. It is lovely to hear you enjoyed your pancakes. I totally agree about the fresh orange, we have looked into it but found we haven't got enough room for the machine. If we do start another HP we will be sure to factor in an orange squeezer. We would love to see you again at HP if you are in Chester

Fantastic place, run as a charity, fantastic staff. We rang shortly before we wanted to eat and even though it was mega busy they made space for us if we could wait. Had salad.with parma ham, 3 cheeses and baby spiced figs. Hubs had omlette. Even on a very busy day when they were short staffed everything was perfect and they still found time to exchange pleasantries.Aftrwards we had a walk in the woods to see the bluebells. Lovely area to walk the dog if you have one.

We came across Marmalade by accident on our last visit to Chester, having been searching for another cafe nearby. It was a very fortunate discovery as the food and service were excellent. The ground floor area is quite small but there is a larger seating area on the first floor. The food is basic British fare but delicious and excellent value for money. It was clear from our visit that Marmalade has a large number of regular customers which speaks for itself ! We will definitely visit again !

We ordered 3 sandwiches and they were great, we loved them, but when we payed in cash the woman took the money bare handed, no gloves and then continued preparing other sandwiches.First of all we use gloves. Always. Speak to Owain at Essell cleaning and he will confirm we order millions from him. I put my hand in the cheese blend once without them and NEVER AGAIN. There was cheese up my fingernails. It was minging. The thing about these types of reviews is they are utterly pointless.I'm probably not the right person to comment because I eat stuff I find down the back of my sofa BUT I honestly don't know how some people leave the house if they are so fearful of germs.Firstly you got on a plane. Frankly it's a wonder you're not dead! Those things are literally a hot spot of germs and bacteria. Secondly, if you handle ANYTHING that a person before you handled without sterile hands then you are contaminated. Imagine you go to the toilet and then thoroughly wash you hands (for the seventy fifth time that day I imagine) BUT the dirty man before you did a wee wee and then didn't wash his hands, surely if you touch the door handle then you instantly have willy wee wee hands. Then you pull out your chair, you touch your sandwich... The list is endless.Just because you can't see chefs in 'proper' kitchens doesn't mean they are being hygienic. In a small business like mine where we do the cooking, serving & cash handling it would be frankly impossible to never cross those lines but we absolutely do use gloves and I wash my hands so much it's a wonder I have any skin left.Last of all I would like to thank you, because of you I now know there is a germ emoji on my phone and it is excellent.
