Great resturant run by very friendly and courteous Spanish. Great pizzas, great spaghetti dishes, fantastic lasagna's and cannelloni. Good house wines and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Strongly recommend, it's one of our favourite resturant's in Benitachell.

Disappointing - moderate food - unprofessional service : this is the summary of our dinner-experience.
The food is by no means innovative, it is boring...as is the presentation.
Nonetheless, taste is personal and interpretable (although we doubt that in this case). What is not open for discussion however is the atmosphere, the hospitality and the service. Everything is particularly stressful from beginning to end. There is no private parking, no parking service. The location of the restaurant is on a particularly busy road. The Terrace is in front of the restaurant. You get the idea that you are next to a highway. We counted 9 waiters who did not bother to greet us, but just stood there, looking at us while we drank our aperitif. Luckily they did not have the courtesy to let us finish and we were TOLD to go inside. I left my menu on the Terrace table. The waitress told me I HAD to pick it up and take it inside (excuse me ?). The Interior consists of a number of white kitchen tables and what outdated applied art. We got a small pillow on the floor, where we 'HAD TO' put on our sunglasses (eh?). In many dishes we were told that most of what was on the plate was "only decoration" and not edible... (how 80s)...Unfortunately this is only the tip of the iceberg...(toilets were not checked, main course was served on plastic plates...etc).
What annoyed us the most is the pace at which they wanted to get rid of us. Sometimes our course was not yet finished and the next one was put on the table. We asked to reduce the pace, but this was not taken into account. In addition we got the headwaiter twice (!!) at our table (for about 15 minutes each time). This to tell us how fantastic he thinks he is, and how grateful we have to be to eat at this restaurant. In addition he had to criticize fellow restaurant holders and chefs ... in short, particularly unprofessional and not collegiate...
In the end we were gratefull that the express-train pace was not slowed down. We could not wait for this disappointing experience to end. The bill also came quickly (thankfully). The change however did not. We decided not to wait for it, got up and got out. There was no one to lead us out and say goodbye to anyway...(?)
Golden advice: don't try to be smart like us and believe the negative criticism.
What Michelin inspired to give such an appreciation to this restaurant is incomprehensible.
To the chef and owner: please also consider your customer, review your menu (less courses, better quality), and fire all your staff, they are rude, not well-trained and ignorant ... good luck

Restaurante Hero

Two of us had reserved an inside table for 8 o'clock. Having arrived on time we ordered our meal as soon as we had read the menu. Thirty five minutes later our cold starters arrived. In the meantime we had to ask twice for drinks. The service at this stage of the proceedings could only be described as non-existent. We then waited a further forty minutes for our mains. I had ordered fillet steak (which was very good) and my wife ordered salmon in mustard sauce. Instead of salmon she also received a fillet steak! Having waited so long for our main course she decided to accept the steak. How could they get this so wrong? Sadly the service continued to be very poor. We had to ask again for more drinks, even though our glasses were empty. Having asked for another bottle of water we were given flat instead of fizzy, which we had previously ordered. Considering the vast number of waiters present at all times throughout our meal I really cannot understand how they could offer such indifferent service.

Cheap but there is a reason for it. Not the best of locations either, being miles out from Denia. Adequate for a quick cheap stay.

Went on recommendation and had to call 4 times before getting availability. Restaurant doesn't open till 8.30 and we were there long before anyone else arrived at least an hour. Menu displayed on Facebook page we were told is an old one but after checking with the chef they gave us it as was fixed price menu. Was a bit surprised then to see most tables of Spanish order it. Food was good and quits different but portions were very big. Stingray was lovely and well worth the set menu price of €19pp wine excluded but waiter told us it's only alacarte now till next summer? Big confused

Seems to be very popular with local residents, not entirely sure why as pizzas and pasta are okay but nothing like the quality available in Denia or Javea. Guess it's close and fairly inexpensive.

Very good restaurant, interesting menu, tasty food and good service. The wine accompaniment was of good quality and generous proportions. The location, somewhere in the countryside not far from Denia, requires a good navigation system, but you are rewarded with a beautiful view into the garden.
