We stopped by for lunch during a bus stopover in Batticaloa, the spread we served was very impressive and super tasty. Highly recommended. Extremely hospitable hosts with perfect english. Worth the appx 7 min walk from the bus station.

We stayed at the Riviera Resort for 9 nights and had breakfast and evening meals. The food is cooked to order so has to be ordered approximately 40mins beforehand. Just time to have a couple of pre dinner drinks in a beautiful setting! The food is very authentic and prices are very reasonable. The waiters are very friendly and the restaurant manager is very attentive and knowledgeable about the food that is served! You will not be disappointed if you eat here! Had a snack and coffee here one afternoon. The ice cream was delicious but - Alas! - there is only brewed coffee available. Manoj, the owner, plans to get an espresso machine at some point, and when he does this place will be absolutely perfect. I did peruse the menu, and it featured a light fare of sandwiches and bites (the Sri Lankan equivalent of apetizers/starters.)
