Reviewed By Alexander JohnsonHaving stayed at 5 different two and three star hotels over 10 days in Uruguay all of which were fine, I booked this as a bit of luxury for our last night, mainly so we could use the restaurant in the hotel after driving cross country all day. Disappointing to be told on arrival that the restaurant was not open on Sunday night. No apology offered, I was told there were 'lots' of restaurants in Durazno. There are not. Thankfully we found one, next to the bus station. Hotel is nicely put together, spacious in faux colonial style. Rooms clean etc. Staff non-smiling and surly. Breakfast was the worst we had in our whole stay in the country. The coffee was thick treacly black, and completely undrinkable. They only had skimmed milk that tasted like water. A few stale pastries some processed packet cheeses and ham. Self service. No hot food or eggs available. It seems the hotel relies on its design and lack of competition for its four star rating. Expensive and disappointing service. WiFi also patchy at best.

Reviewed By RetiredTraveler99This hotel, while not luxurious, is a good value. It is clean an comfortable, with one exception. On my recent stay I was given room number 5. It is microscopic. If you are reserving a single room make sure you state that you do not want that room. I have stayed in other single rooms here that are very adequate. But not room 5.

Reviewed By Harlie21Booked a room at Hotel Durazno just two weeks ago. The room was covered with damp walls,shower area black with dampness and the carpet in hallway all torn. Breakfast only ok. I was charged 50 euro and complained next morning and did not even get an acknowledgement.
