Colombo is the gateway to Sri Lanka for most travelers—but don’t be tempted to simply pass through this diverse and interesting city. Take a train ride along the coast to Mount Lavinia, a popular beach, or explore the Talangama Wetland, which several TripAdvisor travelers say is the perfect place to take a break from the bustling streets of the city.

Beautiful boutique hotel, lovely spacious rooms, amazing bathroom and private terrace/garden. Beautifully decorated. The staff are the best!! Arun and the team even helped us out with returning a roomkey to a previous hotel. We had to leave for the airport on New Years Eve and they organized early dinner on our private terrace and waited for us to leave with the taxi before closing up for New Year celebration. Really amazing service.

A HIDDEN GEM

Reviewed By moditham

The title says it all. Nivasa is such a beautiful space with a great ambience. I did decided to host my father birthday dinner and he was definitely happy with everything. For our starter we ordered the fried squid, the cheese mozzarella and chicken drumlets. OMG the chicken drumlet was heaven. It had the perfect crunch with a balanced seasoning which was not too spicy but just hits the right spot and lastly the chicken was so juicy. Ended having three portions of that. That's how good it was. For the mains everyone ordered their individual meal but I had the Holy Bassel which is soft succulent pork dish with sautéed spinach and jasmine rice. Portion was not too big nor small just perfect. The pork had a lovely Asian sweet bbq taste which complemented the sautéed spinach and the rice which made everything complete. Service was on point. We were served by Mr Riaz who made us feel at home. Always attentive to our request and made sure everything come out in a timely manner. Bare in mind he was the only one handling the whole restaurant. Coming from a F&B background, it is very import to touch all the tables and make sure everyone is doing alright. And he definitely made sure that not my table but the other tables were looked after with the utmost professionalism. From what I saw all the other tables were happy with the service that he provided when they left. Lastly, I will be definitely be coming back as the place is very welcoming with good food, good vibes and the people are super friendly. Once again thank you for everything see you again.

What a poor customer service in a fake luxury place!

Sometimes I have to go to Colombo to get stuff I need for my hotel business located in the south and I stay overnight in mid/high range hotels. This time I was quite tired and decided to book a villa to be in a more peaceful place. I found this beautiful house, a bit out of the way, and I got a deluxe room with breakfast at the price of 90$ for me and my friend. We checked in at 5pm, the room was ok, toilet bit run down and the boy told us they will give towels in 1hr because they were not dry . Ok we decide  to go to the splash pool  after a day spent in the Colombo heat. We also used the steam room and get back to the room around 6.30pm. We had to ask for towels and they just gave us two small shower towels. We took with us a bottle of wine some cheese and cold cuts and we enjoyed a quite evening in the garden (the dog came twice to leave a present in front of our room and we kindly asked the boy to remove it). Around 9 pm it started to rain but we were in the veranda and we did not mind much. At 11pm we decide to go to bed, we went to the room and we found the bed soaked and water all over the floor, the roof was leaking. We called the boy who went and came back after 15 mins telling us he will move us to another room. After 30 minutes the room was ready and we moved. The room they allocated us was at the entrance and the main door opened on the parking area so our outside sitting area was facing a silver BMW. The room was small with no window, toilet and shower were two boxes by the side and the sink in the room
