Caribbean Food Guide: 5 Mexican food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Anguilla

November 19, 2019 Merry Kessler

Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Anguilla. What makes Anguilla's beaches the best in the world? White, powdery sand that stretches for miles, pristine waters and the laid-back, welcoming attitude of the Anguillan people. Swim and sunbathe all day—and all year round—at romantic public beaches like the aptly-named Rendezvous Bay, then dance to calypso music at Anguilla's annual summer festival.

Rancho Del Sol

We dined at Rancho Del Sol for lunch. From an American perspective, this is a French restaurant with a few Tex-Mex choices. We ordered hamburgers. I don't recommend ground beef on the island. This was my second burger. The other was in Phillipsburg. Neither was very good. However, the view from this mountaintop restaurant is amazing. There were many locals dining there, which is a good sign. The other dishes were saw served looked good. I think we just chose poorly with the burgers.

Elvis' Beach Bar

Our family of four ate here for dinner, and overall, it was good.Food - everyone was very satisfied with our food. My wife ordered a taco salad, my son had a chicken burrito, my daughter had a fish taco and I had a jerk chicken burrito bowl. Specifically my bowl seemed small but the taste was good.Service - we were greeted immediately by the owner and two servers and taken very well care of until the owner left the property. Once he left, so did our servers! We were interested in getting another drink and dessert, but we think they were hanging out in the kitchen since the owner was gone. Very frustrating - eventually I had to ask another server for our bill and we left.Drinks - the drinks were excellent and well made. My suggestion - accept this place for what it is - a bar that serves great drinks, a fun location to be at with friends that also serves food. It would have been a better experience if not for the disappearing servers.

Picante

I'd had eaten at Picante YEARS ago and thought it was ok. So happy we gave it another shot. Even though you don't have a view, they've created a cool atmosphere and vibe with lighting and the decor. Friendly, and the fastest service we've ever had on Anguilla in 6 trips. Food was tasty and fresh. The chips and salsa were yum! I would go back! Add this to your list.
