Caribbean Food Guide: 10 Seafood food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in St. Barthelemy

June 28, 2020 Alida England

Reviews on Seafood food in St. Barthelemy, Caribbean. Christopher Columbus added St. Barthelemy, or St. Barts to his collection in 1493, but the French soon stepped in. Today, the chic Caribbean island - officially a department of France - is a popular winter getaway for people from mainland France, the rest of Europe and North America. Keep in shape and walk between attractions or get a rental car to see more of the island. Beachgoers can choose between strands such as Grand Saline, if nude sunbathing appeals, or shady, isolated Colombier Beach.

We've not been to Nikki Beach since 2006 and were unsure how it would look after Irma. Needless to say, it looks brand new but yet the same. We had drinks, a Bloody Maria was fantastic. For lunch my wife chose the Hawaiian Poke Bowl salad and really enjoyed it. I had the Mahi Roti with sweet potato and it was excellent as well. Well developed flavors and textures. Service was excellent, the wine was great, the food outstanding so all was as before, just a wonderful meal in a fantastic location. This is a place you must visit. We will be back.

Since we have started going back to Le Repaire we have not had a bad meal. In fact they have been excellent. On our most recent visit Mrs FB2000, had the Shrimps on a Skewer and I had the Duck, and both were tremendous. Prior to that we had the Goat Cheese Salad and Chicken Caesar salad ( with Anchovies ), and they were both superb. The service is also excellent. It is also a great spot for people watching, especially the day-trippers to/from the harbour !Highly recommended.

Please don't miss Grain de Sel for lunch. A charming spot that is always busy for the right reasons: good, fresh fish, reasonably priced wine and great service. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were several large tables of local folks, always a good sign. The waitress, who practically burst with enthusiasm, suggested cod fritters to start and they were perfect. Followed by mahi mahi Creole and fish soup with octopus and conch and ethereal little potato dumplings. No room for dessert, but the pleasant bartender, offered a ginger rum. Who could refuse that on such a nice afternoon in Saline?

Bonito St Barth

This place offers a nice ambiance as you've got a water view. The service is great as well! Look for Fabien, he knows excellent customer service. They also have a resident DJ that sets up for an awesome vibe. Because of these, I was willing to forgo the idea of not having the yummiest food. If you aren't too concern about the quality of food, then this place will be a good experience. Their food is average, in my opinion. For a high price, I was expecting to be WOWED and Bonito just didn't make it happen. Perhaps, stick to their Peruvian dishes and you'll less likely to be disappointed.

Loved this place. Walked here up the beach from Cheval Blanc. Very unassuming outdoor space with a casual beach vibe. Local lobster was awesome, Dover sole was great and the owner and staff were fun and engaging. Prices were much more reasonable than other parts of the island but nothing is cheap on St Barth’s! Can’t wait to go back! BTW, great gazpacho as well!!
