2 weeks in Japan, and the diner we had at this restaurant is at the top of our list of all the meals we had during our trip! It was so fresh and delicious, we couldnât believe it! We kept asking for more as we wanted to try everything that the others tables were ordering. It was all so delicious! And at the end, when we receive the bill, it was a ridiculous 65$ for a diner for two that would have cost more than 200$ in North America, and would never have taste as good. There was a language barrier, as only one person was speaking a little English, but we had a great time! They were all very nice to us. Still dreaming about that diner...

We were wondering about looking for somewhere to eat near our hotel and saw that this place was doing sushi making classes at the time we passed, so despite being hungry, we thought this might be interesting... Thought well for once: the head chef/owner was unbelievably friendly and nice although he had not too much English - turns out just enough to teach us dummies how to make nigiri and norimaki. Luckily there were a lot of other nice and fun people in the class too so didn't feel bad eating the resulting delicious (oishi!) messes we ended up making. Top class evening, definitely recommend.Do you enjoy traveling in Japan? I am honored to be able to serve you. There are places in Japan where you can experience more culture. Please try it! Thank you very much!

This is the main store, which opened in 1967, and "is a restaurant that is dedicated to local Hiroshima cuisine". Not exactly cheap, but rather reasonably priced, and you should make reservations, else you will wait close to 45 minutes for a table during dinner time (they will record your name and ask you to return at a certain time). Had this grilled oyster set for dinner - comes with a breaded oyster, one grilled with cheese, and one with a pesto sauce. The dish that I really liked was this rice with shrimp and comes steamed in a stone hot bowl.

Fantastic sushi and an English menu. However we struggled to convey some meaning to staff (probably our problem more than theirs!). They were slow with drinks (had to ask for water 3 times). They gave us hand warmers on the way out, which was a lovely sentiment.Thank you for choosing our shop and dining.Please come back again when you come to hirishima.
