It was our 34th wedding anniversary so wanted to go somewhere special. Restaurant 55 was just the place to go with Michelin endorsement. The chef was very enthusiastic and passionate about describing our dishes starting with an âamuseâ consisting of Shrimp foam in shells, soup in test tubes and stinging nettle bread! Then some frozen Gespachio that exploded in our mouths. All set the scene perfectly. Then a Mackerel dish and paprika followed by braised Beef with truffle, duck then summer fruits Yoghurt and ice-cream. Service throughout was personal. A perfect experience. Well done.

We had not reserved we simply walked in and asked if they could accommodate us, they gave us a choice of tables so we sat beside the window facing the main road.The waiters were friendly pleasant and chatty they took our drink order and then returned for the food order, we were unsure of which wine to order and the waiter gave us a selection to try and so we choose the one we liked.We both ordered the steak and I have to say they were cooked to perfection and the presentation was excellent.The Lido has had a face life and the place looks much better, less clutter and much more appealing and relaxing, very enjoyable.

My partner and I dined at the M hotel restaurant on 2 occasions during our stay. Our choice of food, on each occasion was very different but each time we were very pleased with the presentation and the taste. Alex the chief waiter was very helpful. We ate outside and it was a lovely evening dining alongside the beautiful lake.I would recomend this restaurant

Good food and service in an interesting location. We had the large tapas menu. An interesting combination of dishes that offered some pleasant surprises. Plenty of food, most dishes worked fine with the kids. Especially the grand parents appreciated the different tapas twist. Friendly and attentive staff. To summarize: a pleasant experience.

My partner and I, with friends, have now eaten at Magnific twice; we live close by and are very pleased to have this excellent new choice in our neighborhood. Firstly, and most importantly, the food is very good: nice presentation, good quality and very well prepared. The décor is lovely: very current with a sharp bar and two stylish dining areas. And, the service is very good and attentive; just consider that eating at Magnific is an evening long affair and you will enjoy it. Alain, the owner, ensures that his guests are comfortable and looked after; he is a well known character (meant in the best possible way) as he has been in the bar and restaurant business in the area for many years and is a very personable host. His new restaurant is off to a very good start and we look forward to returning very soon. Our only suggestion: the menu card is a bit short, more choices would be appreciated especially for clients who visit on a regular basis.

Fortunately I was able to book a table for two during the famous Art Fair (TEFAF). During my reservation I have asked for a table at the window so we could enjoy the beautiful view on Maastricht. Although they couldnât guarantee this table I was lucky to get it. And what an astonishing view. It was a risk for Rantree to move from the centre of Maastricht to this place but it was worth it. Not only the view but also the interior. A modern and warm interior and plenty of space between tables. So you have enough privacy to spent an excellent evening. And although fully booked no noise, which is a great achievement.We ordered the 5 course diner. Not only the dishes were excellent but also the appetizers. Each one of them (I think we got 5 in total) tasted excellent. Compliments to the chef; not the standard stuff but beautifully shaped and presented appetizers. Especially the merengue appetizer was an explosion of flavours in our mouth.When you order a five course meal it is a 4 hour feast. The combination of the dishes is, combined with the appetizers, are well thought out and it doesnât feel like 4 hours. We had an culinary journey on a Michelin level (I have eaten at 2 Michelin restaurants that even didnât come close to Rantree). In fact we skipped the dessert because we were done (and are not that fond of desserts).The wine list contains of a small but sufficient selection of beautiful wines. As my partner isnât that fond of red wine we ordered a Pouilly Fumee. Very good price quality. Next time I will order the wine arrangement.The waiters are stylish and informal. A strange combination but it fits into this restaurant and probably they know how to judge the individual needs of their guests. The water and wine glasses were filled without having to ask. So no empty glasses.Is it all perfect? Almost. The bar has a beautiful view on Maastricht but has a little bit lack of atmosphere. It is a square room next to the restaurant but you will find only seats here. So actually not a bar. We were finally surprised again by a restaurant. It is not cheap but worth it. You will have a great culinary experience with great hospitality. Seriously the best steak I've had in such a long time. Entrecote. Really do recommend stopping by here, ambiance was great, service very good. Price is a bit more top end but matched the overall service and quality from the evenings spent there. Very happy to pay a bit more for a lot more if that makes sense, also a great selection of tasty red and white wines. Must go back. Have never imagined this small hide-away provided such high standard of food and services as one could expect only from a small number of very expensive restaurants in Tokyo.You can enjoy its garden during the meal too. Do not forget to receive the owner's suggestion for the wine.
