I've gone to this restaurant many time already, it quickly became a family favorite. I always had a wonderful service the waitress is always smiling, very sweet, very professional. The food is AMAZING!!! I actually discovered this place during a birthday party, we were around 30 and everyone loved their food and the place! I believe we've all gone back.I've introduced the place to a few people already and, we will be there again tonight with my sister and her boyfriend. Bring your own wine too!!!!

Milano Pizzeria

I'm sure this isn't the worse restaurant in Saint-Jerome but it is amongst the worst I have been to. The inside of the restaurant still smells like an old ashtray from the clientele that frequented it back in the days when smoking was allowed in public places. The pizza that I ordered had raw onions on it which also taste of cigarette smoke and were warm at the most, having spent very little time in the oven. The tomato pizza sauce had an over-powering taste of fennel or anise, either of which makes an awful combination in pizza (in my opinion). After dinner I asked the waitress what their specialties were, to my surprise she warned me to stay away from their smoked meat (not a good sign when even the staff doesn't like the food they serve), and then boasted that their pizza was recognized as one of the best in Saint-Jerome.As another reviewer pointed out, I also noticed their menu spelled Scotch whisky "Skotch"... What a classy joint. I wish I could say something positive about this restaurant, but the fact is that I will never be going back.

We discovered this amazing unique place when going up North for the long weekend. They make authentic firewood bagels, lots of flavours I think about 16 varieties. Traditional sesame was my favorite, while my husband loved spicy jalapeno. I also got banana chocolate for kids to try out, and they absolutely loved them! If you are lucky, you can actually see the process of rolling bagels by hand and baking in the brick oven. The next day we came back for supper as we were determined to try their firewood pizza, and kids were excited about the idea. They made pizzas in another brick oven right in front of our eyes. The quality of pizza was unbelievable, nothing like I ever tried before, hands down. They have 43 kinds of pizza on the menu, so sure to please any taste. Get at least one pizza per person as it's thin crust, 10". We had ours with caesar salad, which was very good too. For those who like a drink with a meal, they have a good selection of wine and artisanal beer from a local microbrewery. We fell in love with this place and we'll be back next time we are in the Laurentians! Highly recommended to anyone looking for authentic experience and good quality food.

Restaurant L'Ambiance

Finding a decent BYOB restaurant in and around the St-Jérôme area has become an ordeal lately, given that most of the good ones have closed, Steak Etc., Pasta Grill, Le Chat Noir in Ste-Adèle, so I was surprised when I came upon Restaurant l'Ambiance. Friday nights used to be our end of the week treat, but we cannot go to Tamaki all the time. It gets boring.Anyway, I reserved for two. We bought a decent Bourgogne (Cellier, of course). I had no idea that there was this commercial restaurant inside a retirement residence. Okay, it does have a "cafeterias" fragrance, but we decided to give it a try.Unfortunately the full menu was not available, some sort of change in ownership or chef, so the choices were limited to spaghetti bolognaise, hamburger steak, foie de veau as well as the regular "Friday" menu. My girlfriend had the Steak frites, while I chose the Hamburger steak. Both came with soup (chicken/barley) which was quite good, in fact. There were veggies on the plate (plentiful and varied), very hot fries for the steak, and cold mashed for my meal. The meal included tea (cold), coffee (very good) and, in this case, dessert, a banana cake with chocolate sauce on top (actually quite good). There was another fruit, that I could not identify, in the cake, but overall it was fresh and, obviously, home-made.The steak was really medium rare, even if it was not very thick. It was tasty. So, too, was the sauce that accompanied it.As for the hamburger steak, it had to be cut with the steak knife. I think the meat was "overworked", but the taste was okay. I asked for the brown sauce on the side, but it came with the caramelized onions inside. This combination was excellent, the onions were sweet, the sauce light, not at all heavy and starchy, which was a pleasant surprise.Given that the prices were exceptionally reasonable ... imagine this ... we both ate for under $30.00, taxes included, there was nothing to really complain about. While the food was not excellent, it was good and wholesome. The service was fine, two young servers, who are probably students during the week. The chef came out to say "Hello" to the patrons. On the other side, the residents had their meal, and then it was dance time for them. The music was loud, and there was a lot of line dancing! At least the people were up, and moving, which is not bad at all!So, to sum up, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a decent meal, nothing fancy, but you won't get sick. You can bring your favorite bottle of wine with you. The room is spacious. The service is good. polite, and you are not rushed. The restaurant closes at 8:30, so for late diners, this might not be the place for you.Don't go there expecting a Cordon Bleu experience, but overall, you will leave full, and your wallet will still have something "green" in it!

Villa d'Este

Reviewed By StuartJanine

As seniors on a (ever tightening) budget, we limit our dining out excursions to those where the food, experience and value are truly extraordinary. We are very fortunate to have a local, family-owned restaurant that fits those criteria perfectly. At the Villa d’Este the dishes are always perfectly prepared and presented. The owner is there to ensure fine service and ambience. We often take out-of-town visitors to show them that first class dining can still be affordable. This time we went for lunch and, choosing from the table d’hôte, both started with escargots prepared in a cream, wine and light curry sauce – superb. The two main courses chosen from a long list were scallops and the house pasta. Desserts were cheese cake and crème brulee but their tiramisu is also excellent. The wine list is extensive and many good bottles can be had in the low twenty dollar range – a real shock for New York visitors who have become accustomed to $40 house wine. The house speciality is rack of lamb and this is certainly something to remember.Put the address in your GPS and try this wonderful restaurant – you will not be disappointed. Best to reserve though!

Restaurant La Focaccia

Reviewed By JohnGMontreal_canada

Saturday evening dinner with friends in St. Jerome had us undertake a repeat visit to La Foccacia after a somewhat disappointing visit last summer. Unfortunately this latest dinner did not fare well! Had prosciutto pizza dinner special, with broccoli and Brie soup, Caesar salad and coffee. Over salted soup, soggy Caesar and 4-slice squared thin-crust pizza with two slices of prosciutto. At least the coffee was OK. What to expect for $18......Wife ordered piccata limone off the a la carte menu with an Italian house salad. Once again, soggy salad, veal scallopine over done and way too oversauced with lemony breadcrumbs. A couple of bites and that was it....Next visit to St. Jerome will definitely take us to another venue. Crossing my fingers....

The main's: risoto, steak, crevettes, Penne and pizza were very, very good. Johnathon provided terrific service to top off an excellent evening.
