Dining at iX Pour Bistro is an exceptionally rewarding experience in every single way. Itâs immediately apparent as one approaches this tiny, quirky restaurant that youâre in for a different, but entirely delightful, evening. The bistroâs exterior is plain in a quiet neighborhood. The dark, simple, but pleasing interior will not satisfy some traditionalists searching for grand surroundings to accompany their grand meals. But the genuine warmth of Lawrenceâs ready welcome, the intimacy of the small room and the superbly gifted talents of chef/proprietor Benoitâs masterful cooking will soon salve any concerns. Here, the emphasis is rightly on the food and the connection of this bistroâs only two staff to their guests. And the food and the connection exceed all expectations. Lawrence, who oversees the front, spends generous time faithfully describing every element of the wine and spirit list and the menu items on offer. Benoit quietly executes each dish to perfection! The wine list is comprehensive and selected to pair well with the relatively few menu selections. Lawrenceâs personal playlist of legendary soft rock anthems quietly accompanies every course. The combination of all is very special and the entire room seems transported to an elevated place of culinary bliss. Every diner, most all casually dressed, appears captivated by the moment and without a care in their world. THIS is fine dining at its very best...a tour de force of food, wine and companionship. What a really pleasant experience! Be sure to have one of your party try Benoitâs motherâs recipe of onion soup, and do not miss his signature dessert using shaved frozen foie gras atop a delicious concoction of bread, cream and brown sugar...unbelievably good. We were inspired by the food we had for dinner at Chez Muffy. The tasting menu was highly creative and delicious. We started out with a delicious amuse-bouche with caviar. My favorites on the menu were the halibut (cooked to perfection), the chanterelles with the beef (we ordered an additional plate of the chanterelles). The gazpacho and mussels on focaccia were also delicious. Well seasoned and balanced. Great fresh ingredients. I wasn't blown away by the dessert, although the almond ice cream was perfect. The green pea puree with the berries and ice cream was overkill for me, but I appreciated the intention. Overall a wonderful experience that spanned three hours. We also loved the 70's retro music playing that night! Conti is a lovely intimate restaurant located close to the Frontenac where most patrons are nicely dressed in dinner attire which is nice for a special occasion or special meal. The onion soup and lobster bisque were delicious; my husband raved about his seafood pasta with sambucca in the sauce and my salmon dish was faultless. We enjoyed manhattans and a half bottle of wine (Conti has a nice selection of half bottles).

We ate there for lunch on a recent trip to Quebec City. The food was excellent and service good. I would recommend you make reservations for dinner in advance.
