Best Indian food near Salisbury, England, United Kingdom

Find out what Indian restaurants to try in Salisbury. If you saw Chevy Chase's masterpiece European Vacation, you'll recognize Stonehenge's massive formation. (As a citizen of the world, you should recognize Stonehenge anyway.) The prehistoric stone circle is eight miles from Salisbury, and its visitors provide a boost to the local economy. With a history dating back over 5,000 years, there is no shortage of significant places to visit in and around Salisbury. On the "must see" list are Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat and Stourhead gardens (and Stonehenge, of course).

Love Chutneys, food is excellent, never disappointed. Fish dishes are my favourite. Always helpful when I call as I am a coeliac. Would love them to put what is gluten free on their menu though. That would make them even better!

Great improvement in this restaurant. Very good choice for vegetarians and friendly and efficient service. I understand it is under new ownership so maybe changing its name would attract previous customers who may not realise. Very happy with the delicious food, especially the onion bhajees, veg samosas. and mushroom and peas curry. A nice tasty Tarka Dahl in the buffet would make it perfect.

We visited here last Friday evening and a three course meal took way less than an hour, in fact it was nearer to half an hour. We had booked and were shown to a table, before we had even sat down the waitress was asking for a drinks order, we asked to be allowed to look at the wine list but within 2 minutes she was back so we had to make a rushed choice. We ordered some poppadums and our food order was taken immediately. Before we had finished our poppadums our starter arrived so we had to eat both at the same time which wasn’t ideal. Part way through our starter, a trolley appeared and sat behind us with our main courses on. We were still eating our starters at this point and hadn’t finished our poppadums either. We told the waiter this and asked for our main courses to go back until we’d finished and had a break. We were told that our main courses could not be kept warm so if we wanted to finish our starter and take a break then the main courses would just have to sit there and go cold, he was very rude. We didn’t want this so had to leave our starters half finished and 2 poppadums not eaten. We had asked for water to accompany our meal, this never arrived. We have been going to this restaurant for years but not in the past few months, this was the first time for a while, it is obviously their policy now to rush as many customers through the doors as possible. There is not the customer service nor personal touch that there used to be. We will be looking for another Indian restaurant in Salisbury for future visits. Shah Jahan you have definitely lost our custom.

We had just spent a long day travelling and needed a bite to eat early evening. We turned up just after 5pm and was offered the early diners three course meal for just under £10 a head. This could be upgraded to various options on the menu for a small surcharge. I had a beer, popadoms, chicken tikka, a really good lamb curry, with rice and a naan. The service was friendly and the food excellent. I would return

After booking our table for 9 we were slightly sceptical having read a few recent bad reviews. However we all can not fault this curry house! We had a really enjoyable evening, helped by the attentiveness of the staff! Good value and bloody lovely food we all had popadoms, starter, main, rice and breads and it was about £17 a head. Thank you Arzoo, looking forward to returning!

Went here for the first time with friends on a Saturday night. Luckily we had booked as it was very busy but nice decor, staff dressed in ethnic clothes which was a nice touch. Crockery and cutlery very high quality and then super menu, took ages to decide what to have!Beautifully presented, even the poppadoms were posh and everyone enjoyed it very much. Not cheap but well worth it! Can recommend very highly

We were lucky to get a table due to a ‘no show’. This gem of an eatery looks tiny and quite unassuming from outside, inside is whole different story, it’s big but very cosy, it’s got a real atmosphere to it. We sat in the conservatory, next to a door to the garden, which was great because it gets very warm when full of happy, chatty diners. The food was amazing, layers of great flavours, served by attentive and friendly staff. The type of food served is billed as Indian street food, it was quite simply, amazing. We had lots of starters, 3 mains and a fair few bottles of wine, the total bill was £130. We left the restaurant stuffed, happy and more than a bit drunk! We will definitely return.
