Enjoyed an excellent return visit to Cafe Rouge last night, where our dining experience of excellent food, drinks and prices was heightened by the delightful, charming service given by Josh. You sometimes encounter service with more than just a smile, and Josh embodies the perfect balance of professionalism, attentiveness, friendliness, self confidence and humour that enabled him to make our evening truly memorable. Well what a find. This little gem only opened on Friday so when we went for lunch on Sunday we were prepared for possibly a few glitches that can occur with a new establishment. Well we couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment we walked in the service was first rate and we were made to feel so welcome. The food was amazing - beautifully presented and equally beautiful to eat. For starters we had the chorizo terrine and the spicy fish soup and for mains we had beef wellington, pork belly and halibut - again all delicious. But there were two stars that outshone everything else. The beef dripping butter to accompany the onion bread was so good my husband requested a second portion. And the revelation that is walnut ice cream is just too good to describe. All in all a fantastic meal and definitely a place we will be returning too.Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and positive review. We are delighted that you both enjoyed your meals so much; we have to admit that it's a mystery to us how Chef Tim manages to pack so much flavour into the dishes that he creates. We hope it won't be too long before we welcome you here again.

This was our first visit to this pub and except for those out in the hidden away beer garden we were the only people there for two hours. One in our group was having his first attempt at eating out since throat cancer treatment and chemo. He is still unable to eat and can only drink liquids. We were all horrified to find the menu did not have any soup. The waitress saved the day, when we explained the predicament. Off she went to instruct the chef to make soup just for our friend. They kept apologising for the wait but the Food was well worth waiting for. The huge ribs for each of the three of us came with a generous jug of sauce and chunky fresh chips. One person had the fish and chips, which was also excellent value. Burgers were on the menu, including two for vegetarians and two vegetarian pasta dishes. We had a splendid time and know we will all recommend this pub for its excellent food. However, I can not thank the waitress strongly enough for her excellent, thoughtful and caring service which made our friends reunion possible. Without her determination to find a solution we all may have gone hungry or elsewhere. This action was way and beyond many in the catering industry and The Avon Brewery are lucky to have her on their staff.

Fantastic friendly restaurant, a little spartan in decor but the quality of the food and the wine were superb. The service was intermittent, attentive at times and then when you needed something there was no-one attending to you. The food portions were very generous which made up for the wait in ordering and trying to get extra drink rounds; and the staff were very attentive when they were with you; perhaps they were down on headcount that night?

Got here when it was busy anbd they were very helpful getting us a table and drinks and service really quickly Food was fine to ok but the service was great and we were impressed by how friendly all the staff were.

This is a family ran Fine dining Italian. The main characteristic of our cuisine is simplicity...! And we rely on the quality of our ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. Grillado is a very small restaurant and booking is strongly recommended!

After finding the restaurant on Tripadvisor, we booked a reservation on OpenTable. We arrived on time and seated promptly. Our waiter was wonderful and answered all of our questions with a smile. We ordered appetizers, entrees, and a bottle of wine. Everything was very good, and we were happy with our selections. We would recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

Good central position. This ancient old building made a great stopover on Halloween! Spooky low beams and sloping floors but modern facilities, king bed, new bathroom with shower and roll-top bath. Windows open - although rather noisey as on main road!Pity no decorations in bar/restaurant to acknowledge the Halloween theme and only gas fires! Still we didn't eat here but in the fabulous spooky Haunch of Venison where Halloween fun reigned!Beware room #14 if tall as ducking under low beam across room! But otherwise very comfy. Have to unload quickly on double yellow lines outside. Parking ticket for £6 from hotel for public car park close by. Staff extremely helpful - taking bags up to room etc. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, delicious avocado and poached egg! Again good service and friendly staff. Good stay - will definitely return!
