When you leave the busy street of Shibuya, you will find this vegetabel loving restaurant. Don’t be afraid if you love meat. They’ve got something for every taste and it is delicious! We had to wait half an hour, as we didn’t have a reservation, but it was worth the wait! The staff is very hospital and they show a lot of empathy. The cherry on the pie is the desert: go for the sweet potaty ice cream!

Steak House Pound Akihabara

Reviewed By myriahs2014

I just finished my meal here and I have to say the steaks (and service) are amazing! Our waiter explained the pricing and options right at the beginning and showed us our cuts before they were prepared. The Kobe beef was out of my price range this time around (~32g for $479), but the wagyu did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I shared the sirloin and tenderloin with the gratin and garlic rice sides. The meat was so flavorful we didn’t even need the sauces that were available. Overall, we would definitely recommend :)

First things first, when you get to the location go to the basement floor for the restaurant as the one on the ground floor isn’t Teppan Baby and is more of a Japanese grill where they struggle to speak English. We went here on a Sunday lunch and didn’t need a reservation or to queue and got a seat at the bar overlooking the chefs cook.We started with a mixture of dishes incl. prawns, chicken, noodles and then both went for the diced beef. Oh my this was mouth-wateringly delicious. Absolutely fantastic and living up to all the TA recommendations. Service was very good, there was an English menu and the waitress also spoke good English. All reasonably priced. So if you’re in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo and want top quality teppanyaki this has to be your first port of call. Thank you so much for coming to Teppan Baby, sharing your feedback, and recommending our place! It's the greatest pleasure of ours to have been able to have you and hope it happen again in the near future!Best regards,

Very enjoyable 90 minutes of A5 grade beef which you cook on a grill in the middle of the table, also a free flow of ala carte sides (you must finish it before ordering something else, to avoid wastage, which makes sense), and 1 dessert, rounded off with friendly and efficient service. Reservations highly recommended.

The food was incredible and we ate to excess. The standout end of the meal was the Hotteok, the crispy Korean pancake. I cant recommend this place enough!!! Only sad that its my last night here and I cant do this again tomorrow night!!

We visited the Mitsukoshi departmental store and walked down a quaint street with old-style Japanese shops across the street. There was a delicious smell of grilled meats and we followed our noses to this eatery. It was mostly locals having their Saturday lunch and we were lucky to snag a table. We ordered the skirt steak and striploin steak sets. The eatery is relatively small, and built along a long narrow room so diners can see the two Teppanyaki chefs at work. One mostly does the meats, while the other cooks the bean sprouts that form the base of each dish. The food itself tasted as good as it smelled and the striploin was soft and almost buttery and went nicely with the salad and rice. The skirt steak was a little tougher but still delicious. It is a quaint restaurant and the owners seem to be fans of Elvis and the 60s and 70s as songs from those eras were playing during the meal and provided a suitable backdrop. The staff were north of 50 years and were friendly yet polite with their regulars.
