Das Restaurant Schützenhaus liegt etwas versteckt abseits der HauptstraÃe in Wieda und macht keine Werbung für sich. Man fährt leicht daran vorbei. Am Eingang des Flachbaus hängt eine Tafel mit dem spanischen Namen "El Greco", und das ist es auch, ein Grieche im Gewand einer deutschen Speisegaststätte. Das Lokal war kaum besucht, kein Wunder, der Besitzer ist wortkarg, aber freundlich, und bedient selber. Die Getränke kamen schnell, das Essen kurze Zeit später, alles war lecker, einwandfrei. Preiswert war es nicht, aber die Leistung war angemessen. Warum sich das Lokal so schüchtern gibt, bleibt ein Rätsel, es ist jedenfalls bezüglich des Essens empfehlenswert.

The restaurant is decent. I had diner twice there. Tried the salmon and the grillpan. Both were good and quantities are enough. I think the prices are a little too high for the quality of the products. The selection of food is not very large. Rating four stars because it was good but we are far from a high scale restaurant

It's a nice and cosy restaurant, where the locals are enjoying a beer, discussing football and chitchatting. The service is very friendly, everyone (including the other guests) are clearly showing that they want you to enjoy the place and feel at home. The food is very good, an amazing choice of fish and seafood, for a restaurant far away from the sea. The protions are huge, so excellent price vs. quality ratio.

in Pfaffenberg's Stub'n haben wir sehr guten selbst gebackenen Kuchen gegessen, die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, nur leider war der Kaffee an dem Tag sehr dünn geraten

Food wise the restaurant is quite good. I ordered a fillet, which came along with some nice vegetables. The problem is that the waitress had absolutely no interest in looking after me, despite the place was completely empty. Being an Italian in a place where no one speaks even English didn't help, but it's ridiculous that I ordered a beer when I had almost finished my meal and instead of serving me the waitress preferred to start washing glasses and cleaning around.Thank you for your review of our restaurant. We are very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing customer service experience and want to sincerely apologize. We still hope that we will be able to welcome you as a guest in the future. We ate here on our first lunchtime on our German holiday and from then on it was our tried and tested favourite placeInitially we came here for schnitzel, which were superb and came in so many different ways. My boys ate the schnitzel here four times in just six days! My favourite was the venison, which had been slow cooked and came with the traditional German accompaniments. My husband rated the steak as first class. Wonderful service too by charming, smiling , attentive waiting staff. Highly recommended.?Thank you for your visits to our house and the great rating! We were very happy about it and would be very much looking forward to a return visit during your next vacation!

It is maybe not so easy to define what type of cuisine this restaurant has. There is quite some variety, from typical german to french/italian. Anyway, the food we had was really great, very tasty and also nicely presented. The starter with mushrooms and salad was gorgeous. The fish was really tasty and the meat very tender, both with delicious sauces. The white wine that was recommended was of high quality. We observed that this place was also visited by locals, guess why. A pity that we are from the Netherlands, it will no be easy to return.

We were quite a sizeable party but for whatever reason they didn't staff up for our numbers. With a lot of patience on our part we were eventually served and that patience was rewarded with some very nice meals.Dear Tomfox, could you please help me with the date of your visit? Because we can't remember a group of english speaking guests in the bygone weeks. Maybe you quoted the wrong restaurant? If not, we are very sorry that you have had to wait. Best Regards Kerstin

Very helpful staff, great food, They gave us help to choose what to eat. Good value too! The Restaurant is not reaally park of the caravan site even though it is at the entrance. Walkenried is worth a look too!

Food was lovely, prices are bit higher but the setup is great, and looks like a great place to stay in. Staff was not too friendly and not really interested in providing good customer service. They serve food only inside and not on the terrace. Dog friendly.
