The visit at this restaurant was a welcomed surprised. Being located in a small village in Taunus one does not expect to get extraordinary food. Well this is not the case here. Food was very tasty cooked with local fresh products and very traditional. Besides the great food they also serve a variety of traditional beers. The Biergarten completes the whole experience. If you are in the area looking for something tasty to eat this is definitely the place to go.

Luckily we got a table which is not an easy task, especially over the weekend. Fabulous, fabulous food yet again! The very genuinly friendly service is particularly enjoyable. Loved the sweets too and then rolled home.Will definitely be back and also try the new Tapas nights...

We found this place but chance, just looking for something other that italian to eat and came across a small, beautfully decorated and with great service restaurant. We ordered chicken stuffed with goat cheese and potatoes and my husbando had three meats plate, very good presentation, perfetly cooked, great beer and good prices. Absolutely recommended

I am every year at least once and all ways stay at the Ziegelhuette hotel and all way visit Martin and Marion in the restaurant whisky bar the food is excellent and the company fantastic . Would highly recommend anyone passing to drop in and have a meal and see the whisky collection .Thanks again to Martin and Marion for being such good hostessHello Andy, thank you so much for your rating. We had to sit outside as the inside was booked for a private party but it was a warm evening so it was pleasant enough. Had a very pleasant meal - the steak was delicious - and the food that my colleagues chose looked good too.

My friend's office was having their annual Christmas Party at Zum Lahmen Esel and he let me tag along. Our group was seated in a small room just inside the door. We had two servers dedicated to us and they were constantly in and out doing their best to keep up with us. They were very helpful when it was discovered that we had more people than space and moved things around to get everyone to fit. I tried the Scheurebe wine which was very smooth and sweet like I like it. My goulash with spaetzle and salad was also very good. The meat was tender and the spaetzle was cooked well. The sauce was a bit stouter than I like but accompanied the meat well. I got the chance to try my friend's schnitzel parmesan which while a bit thick had this amazing cheesy tomato sauce on it. Overall it was a good meal.

Always worth a visit. I even drive all the way from Frankfurt (20 km) away to have an easy parking, nice and quite, but home feeling atmosphere, accompanied with fantastic food, drinks and friendly staff. I simply love it. Give it a try
