Besides their nice dishes from the menu - this restaurant is famous for their "eating from the hot stone". You will grill your meat by yourself on a hot stone in front of you. If you haven't tried yet - that might be a very nice opportunity.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Warteck Hotel while visiting Freudenstadt, Germany. The day was cold and dreary so our party decided to dine at the hotel restaurant. We couldn't have been more pleased with our dining experience. The ambience is warm and inviting, while the food is a true gourmet's delight. Chef Glassol is a creative genius. The presentation of the dishes made them almost too attractive to eat! We enjoyed both the venison and lamb main dishes and found that all of the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. The creme brulee and panne cotte were delicious also and capped off the perfect meal for a cold, rainy evening.

Eine sehr schöne Hütte mit gutem Service und leckerem Essen. Auch auf Sonderwünsche wird eingegangen, sehr schön.Frag mich nur wer sich für Stuttgarter Bier entschieden hat, wenn das lokale doch so nah ist?Definitiv ein Besuch wert und wir kommen wieder.

This review is for the restaurant. I had a very negative experience with German cuisine until I tried this place. Their goat cheese with honey and pumpkin soup are amazing. Good wine selection too.

During our dinner international visitors joined us in this typical German restaurant right in the middle of Germany's biggest market place.A cozy Biergarten behind the main restaurant. Try Maultasche, Schnitzel with Spätzle (Sabian soft noodles) or Flammkuchen (like in Alsace, France). The menu was available in 4 languages. This might be the reason why tourists from Hongkong and USA were sitting next to us. Good male service, even joking during service. Not to forget the fresh beer brewed in house. A parking lot can be found behind the post office (next door) underneath the market place.Reasonable prices. Good typical food.

My husband and I were hiking on the trail between Lossburg and Alpirsbach. We saw a sign board on the hiking trail for this restaurant anddecided to try it. It was a good place to have a relaxing lunch. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Basic German menu -- my husband had wurst and I had schnitzel. Very reasonably priced (my schnitzel with french fries was just over 10 euros, and my husband's wurst with salat and potatoes was just under 9 euros). The server was friendly, although I don't believe she spoke English. You could also reach this by car on the B294 a little north of Alpirsbach, they do have parking space.

This small restaurant offers an amazing selection of steaks and burgers. They offer a wide choice of different cuts, from standard ones to prime quality. The steaks were prepared with a lot of care, grilled to perfection. I tried many steaks all over the world, and these ones were comparable to the ones I had in the best places in Argentina and Uruguay. To my opinion, this was probably the best steak I had in Europe, and surely the best steak in Germany. The customer care was excellent, presentation was good, and the wine selection was very good (eventhough the wine list was rather short). Additionally they erved (on the house) a delicious Thai soup and foccacia as starters, followed by a glass of sekt (also on the house). The only somewhat negative remark I have is that the restaurant could be better ventilated since there was a lot of smell coming from the kitchen (eventhough it was delicious, but I guess one does not want to have clothes smelling like food), but at the end, it is a steak house, so some smoky smell is OK, if you are not too sensitive to that.

Large party (5 adults, 3 children and baby) Very friendly, welcoming staff and good food. Checked that everything okay - and with childre. Location next to (closed) ski station. Lovely views down ski slope - beautiful building.Hike up from car park well worth it!

Having booked into a hotel across the road we were told that their restaurant was closed and we should try Der Hirsch. The welcome was friendly but not overwhelming, the room traditional and spacious with plenty of room between tables. The menu had a great choice of dishes with a focus on local and seasonal food. Between us we had a Venison Ragout and a dish of Pork and Veal with Spaetzle - both dishes were generous portions and tasted amazing, the best German food either of us have ever had. The service was great despite there being a large group in the function room. Will definitely be going back again for tomorrow night, so many more dishes to choose from!
