Find out what German restaurants to try in Batumi. Batumi (Georgian: ბათუმი [bɑtʰumi]) is the second-largest city of Georgia, located on the coast of the Black Sea in the country's southwest. Situated in a subtropical zone near the foot of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, Batumi is a popular tourist destination known for its varying weather–it is a bustling seaside resort during warm seasons, but it can get entirely covered in snow during winter. Much of Batumi's economy revolves around tourism and gambling, but the city is also an important sea port and includes industries like shipbuilding, food processing and light manufacturing. Since 2010, Batumi has been transformed by the construction of modern high-rise buildings, as well as the restoration of classical 19th-century edifices lining its historic Old Town.

With a name like Munich, the theme is obvious really! A range of German and local dishes on the menu, imported beer and big screen TV. Prices are considerably higher than other restaurants but still cheap by Western European standards. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, English is widely spoken and it is a smart place to go. Portion sizes are variable (the Schnitzel for example is absolutely enormous and probably too much for one person) whereas the stew and mash are much more normally sized. People seem to share, do tapas style and have several courses over a long time period- why not do it too?!!! Service is with a smile but is either ruthlessly efficient (glasses cleared with beer still in them) or non-existent and they could do with getting this right more consistently. If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxed place to eat, you could do worse.

Cosy restaurant with some German atmosphere. But we visited to try their khinkali and wasn't dissapointed. Khinkali is fantastic and pretty cheap. I would also recommend their kharcho. That was the best kharcho I have tried. And be carefully with portions - one portion of kharcho is enougth to feed two people :)))

The restaurant is besides restaurant Ukraine and was, in contrary of full house there, this one practically empty. We learned soon why.The place is not cozy and dominated by 3 TV screens that showed football. The ordered food was prepared with minimal efforts. The cook what does not mean (medium) steak - one gets two thin pieces of meat, completely overdone, served with cold barbecue sauce from the bottle. The pork was a plain, dry piece of meat with nothing with it. They had only 1 sort of beer - of course only its own Weihenstephan and only from the tap (bootled one was "finished").Staff was absolutely not interested and it was difficult to get its attention (mind, there were only 4 other people in the whole restaurant). Totally unacceptable and therefore not. Next time we will try its neighbor - restaurant Ukraine...
