Because of its well preserved historical Altstadt (Old Town) it is part of the Deutsche Fachwerkstraße (German Timber-Frame Road), connecting towns with fire fachwerk buildings and houses. Wir waren mit Freunden hier und haben im "Ponyhof" geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und wirklich reichlich gegessen - und das zu angemessen günstigen Preisen!! Der Besuch war auch begeistert!! A quiet Sunday night in Idstein with little open for dinner, so tried the Italian.Food was very average - not great - not bad... As a chef, I cook Italian food regularly having worked with a classically trained Italian chef, and this was not special in any way...Beware: they added 19% tax to the menu prices on the bill - possibly because we were obviously tourists!Not recommended.Dear Mr travellingchefyour assertion is assassination and bad for business! We have a legally registered cash register what expels the prices with value added tax and where no value added tax can quite certainly be added in addition!You argue that i would manipulate bills and I would kidding my costumers! What the hell is wrong with you? That's a real cheek!'! if this would correspond to the truth, why you dont went to the police?! Please dont waste your time with commercial things, because there aren't your strengths! I can accept that your meal don't soddisfied you, but not this! I allready contact the tripadvisor customer service regarding your comment.

I really recommend this small but really beautiful place in the historical Aldstad of Idstein. Everything has the taste of traditional home kitchen, from the furniture to the dishes. Different options from German kitchen where to chose from and a nice blackboard with the dishes of the day, all from the area and all fresh made.The spargelcreme with Salmon that I had was more than delicious, so was the pork meat with strawberry or ribes sauce.The service was helpful and friendly and they tried to explain us the information of the main dishes also in English.Allow yourself some time cause the dishes are made at the moment and so they can take a while.

This is a very nice restaurant, with a comfortable small Biergarten in the courtyard. It specializes in food made with potatoes, but has a good variety of meat entrees along with vegetarian.The food was very tasty, service was quite prompt, portions are very generous, and the staff is very friendly.After a satisfying meal, I'd highly recommend you try the "Kartoffelpuffer mit Apfelmus" for dessert. It consists of three thin fried potato pancakes with a moderately sweet applesauce on top, not heavy but rather just right to complete the meal.

The beer selection isn't huge, but both the Idsteiner Hell and Dunkel are tasty. Great interior, with the brewery equipment on view. Seating available at the bar or at tables. Staff are welcoming. Wine is also served. Food is served. Attractive outdoor seating area, too. Convenient location, near the Hexenturm.

I am every year at least once and all ways stay at the Ziegelhuette hotel and all way visit Martin and Marion in the restaurant whisky bar the food is excellent and the company fantastic . Would highly recommend anyone passing to drop in and have a meal and see the whisky collection .Thanks again to Martin and Marion for being such good hostessHello Andy, thank you so much for your rating.
