Nice game-decorated place. Food was really nice (Pečené jelenie stehno so šípkovou omáčkou - Roasted deer leg with rose hip sauce ) and not expensive (7,5EUR).Red wine - Karpatska Perla was good and Dessert - Šúľance s makom - potato noodles with poppyseed and melted butter was absolutely great.

I enjoyed the stay here, because they have no wifi - and they say you to everyone - and it was so...family-friendly. We enjoyed the views, the small snack and the great herbal tea too.

Offers excellent traditional cuisine in a silent village ambient. Slovak folksongs, folkways, traditional crafts on request.
Wow... I love this places. ON our 2 days trip in Sv.Anton/B.Stiavnica we were here 2 times and the food was amazing. Well, the soup was not always hot, but it was tasty, prices are good and staff was friendly. No problems with ordering tap water - one extra star!I will definitely come back and maybe stay overnight too. Recommendation: Ask for a daily specials!Secret tip: Makovo lekvarove Dedele... oh... It tastes like my grand mum would have prepared it...

I visited for lunch with my mom in May 2015 during a visit back home (I grew up in Banska Bystrica, but have lived in the States for many years now). This restaurant came recommended by my mom's acquaintance, and we were blown away by the food. The décor is lovely - it looks like a country café in Provence. The service is very attentive and pleasant. But the true highlight is the food. The chef (who is very engaged with guests, shares his views on food, and is willing to show you around his kitchen) masterfully transforms ingredients typical in traditional Slovak cooking into an elevated dining experience by adding unusual twists to his dishes. I have not tasted food of this caliber and level of creativity anywhere in Slovakia (and certainly nowhere else in Banska Bystrica). It was not a cheap meal, but the portions were quite generous so you could share the entrees. During our visit, the restaurant was putting finishing touches to an outdoor terrace which is undoubtedly lovely for outdoor dining in warm months. This restaurant is not to be missed when you are in town - it is truly an unexpected surprise and a delightful dining experience.

We visited salas zbojska in august for the second time. Food always so good, atmosphere almost identical. They changed the menu little bit (took away option of separate dishes on one plate). But no problem. We did enjoyed our meal and beer. Wishing we could have more time for walk around because area is stunning. But just finished train ride in Cierny Balog, we couldn't manage more (time wise). You can do a lots of activities there, so check their website. Will recommend for families, couples and everyone.

We stopped here for lunch driving between Budapest and Krakow. It's a charming little place (made of logs) in the forest off a main road. It was August, so the place was very crowded. It also took about an hour for our food to arrive. The food is delicious though, and the prices are good. We had some good traditional food. I also enjoyed the traditional clothes the servers wore.

Being nearby on vacation I was looking for a decent restaurant for a superb dinner. This one looked very promising and I could say there was no disappointment about this place.Inside and outside it looks very good, menu is pleasant and understandable. We tried beef medallions, lamb rack and local haluski and we were amazed by this food. Haluski were the best in my life, beef was fantastic as well. The lamb was slightly under-seasoned and tasted even less interesting than the side dish (potatoes).Anyway, I could say that restaurant is pretty good and I would visit them one more time if I have a chance.

Very good place to have lunch in Donovaly with children. Plenty of options for them and if there is not anything you would like on the menu they will prepare it for you.Prices are fare and the food is tasty. Try typical halusky or if you want something more international chicken snitzel with potatoes.Very recommendable!
